Lol. I think you didn’t get the point of what I was saying buddy.
Having free server will let people migrate to the low pop servers, that you claim they are dying.
People are stuck on 2k queue servers and are looking to get out.
In the posts I mentioned they even said that people will be able to join their friends even though the servers are locked rn.
Did you even read the posts I mentioned before you replied? or were you too butthurt to do it?

Sorry bud if I’m not gonna skim threw threads just searching for info from people. If you feel so strongly make a post. See the reactions. I know what I see. I play over on valgrind. We’ve watched the population fall with our own eyes. Even have had people go to different servers at this point due to it. If you think server transfers are gonna help good for you I hope they do.

Seems to me you’re just here to vent some steam because you’re worried about your server. I can half get that I guess.
As I’ve said before, I’m pretty sure the server migrations will normalize the server population. Also, they plan to merge servers if populations on some get low. There are a lot of options.
Just hang tight and let them do their job. So far this has been by a mile the best launch of any MMO in recent history.

Back to the real topic I’m not trying to argue irrelevant points to a realistic problem.
No matter how many players are currently playing the game doesn’t erased the fact current servers people are playing on are just dying due to them keeping the servers locked and adding a bit of an excessive amount of servers, if you ask me. I counted over 150+ servers just on US EAST Region than means just that region can hold 300,000+ players about HALF of the player base if that’s not an excessive amount of servers idk what is. Especially when other regions have nearly the same amount of servers and more.
Now OBVIOUSLY a region being able to hold that amount of players is NOT the problem here, let me be CLEAR. However the fact it’s split up into a 2000 Server Capacity is, 2000 players per server is too small for this game no matter what due to the map size and amount regions people can be in as well as the fact more regions will also be added meaning map expansion.
Let me explain why a 2000 Server Capacity is a problem to begin with:
Now that the game is slowly leaving the beginner phase people are starting to spread out all around the map and there’s barely any people in towns compared to the first week of the game and hardly any people to just find in Open World PVP etc. My server legit feels like a ghost town. I don’t think even if the developers opening my server will fix this issue now that there’s an excessive amount of servers to choose from. I feel like they forced themselves into a situation where server merges are going to be needed.
Why Server Merges:
Well as we already heard from the developers they are already working on increase server Cap.
So Question. Is every server they currently added going to get an increased server capacity? They already have added enough servers to hold their base population of 750,000 Players.
There was already information about allowing players to switch servers, so with the combination of server switching and a server capacity increase can fix a lot of issues. But with the amount of servers added and people switching to more popular servers some servers are going to be Incredibly desolate due to the fact the popular servers can hold more players. This will cause the already low population servers to be incredibly desolate to the point I feel like keeping those servers up would be nearly pointless especially in a game that is revolved around holding territories and territory up keep with taxation etc. You cannot deny the amount of players on a server holds importance in this sort of game. So I believe Server merges will come eventually for those consistently low population servers in the future.
So prepare for that reality to come eventually.
you can lose land with one war, no one should expect to own land forever.
And the people who paid 100k have had their land for like a week or two, they likely got whatever use they wanted out of it. Everybody else paid less to win it in a war.
There are a few companies on my realm that are not happy with how the territory wars happen since they cannot acquire the land that they want and they are looking to go on low population realms to easily monopolize everything.
And since my realm is hovering around 1.5k then i am really wondering how the population will look after the free transfers.
Also, i am not sure if it makes any sense to give free transfers just to merge realms afterwards.
Why is our consistently low pop server still locked but you can make characters on Valhalla?
Our server had queue from people spilling over from others when it was locked, now the population is becoming an issue across the board, from pvp participation to the economy. Prices on our servers are starting to reflect this. Much of the tier 1 items are starting to skyrocket from the lack of influx
I know of two people simply waiting to buy the game, but with no transfer info or unlocks on the horizon, I think they will probably loose intrest in joining since our group is midway through the grind. It a crappy situation all around that they need to address
It’s great that so many people want to play New World. Fantastic to hear that the word is getting out more and more how great it is and that a million wanted to play on first day ! I was worried that the server queues were something Amazon were happy to tolerate for the early surge of players but I’m glad to read your post tonight and hear that you really are going to fix this next week! Thank you. Honestly, it’s a GREAT game - already. The game play is delicious with chain attacks, chain defence and weapon swaps so your always immersed and fighting hard – I can keep just doing and doing it!! The fighting is beautiful. And at level 24 I got a taste of level 25 elites by accident last night and it was awesome. It’s worth the wait while you fix the queues!! But please do make it so more people can keep coming and playing. They will come. It’s frickin awesome and will stand the test of time and the test of gameplay. Those who’ve felt it already will keep coming! Hence the queues!! Thanks for fixing the queues when you can. (one point though, it’s really bad if you DC and have to joi the queue again. Can you fix this too?
