Set an example out of them

So the Devs intended for mass groups of people to simply swap spots in a fort to gain rewards and advance their new pvp content? This is clearly an exploit and an unintended use of a new feature meant to gain an advantage which is why we just had to have a server restart/update.

No need to use mental gymnastics to make yourself feel better about it.

Chop off a hand as well, with a blunt axe

Or just reset their progression?

Being unintended doesnt mean its an exploit…again players dont attack or kill all reds they see on WT chest runs, luck chest runs, or open world faction laps, or open world gathering. Server cooperation happens hundreds of thousands of times per day across all servers.

Wun trading would apply to Arena matches themselves but not fort occupation. There is no requirement to defend them. It is purely voluntary.

How exactly are they getting an advantage over you? It’s not the same like having a company and roll all the gold on the server…

Yes people take advantage of the fort mechanic because it’s the next best way to get exp/azoth salt after arena. But saying they get an advantage over other players is like saying other people have an advantage because they play arena and you don’t…

See though, it doesn’t take much for them to come back and murder me. I ended up being murdered by 2 purples and a green, 2 of which I already killed. I had the same amount of fun killing them, as I did being murdered by them. Pvp on this game is fun, and that’s why I play it.

Once you flag, you agree to any kind of pvp encounter that comes your way. I’ve legit been flagged about 1680 of my 1700 hours of play time. I’ve been killed by groups, I’ve been killed by 60s before I hit 60. I’ve also killed 60s before hitting 60. I’ve enjoyed every minute of it, even before they added on the flag luck for harvesting.

It’s just a game in the end.

Did the devs also intend for players to endlessly farm pvp missions without fighting each other to advance in their new pvp content? Running laps is endgame pvp content.

“It’s not about fun” should be the official New World tagline

Way I see it, don’t hate the player, hate the game (and its poor mismanagement across the board).

@TheGoodGuyTM At this point, I’d have to agree with you on this. New World is basically APB all over again. Either you are cheater or prey for the cheaters, or you simply don’t play.

The most obnoxious thing about this whole situation is that those of us who actually want to PvP and earn salt/pvp exp the right way literally can’t even. I ran 50 arenas yesterday, when the cap on pvp xp / salt is 25. I would have provably run over 70, but with the salt/xp limit it feels like a waste of time even though I love PvP and have been waiting for arenas since launch.

Not to mention that if you tried to actually fight the people who were fort trading, you were griefed in chat for disrupting their experience. What a joke.

They don’t need to ban. Reset abusers pvp tracks and salt to 0.

And that’s completely cool too.

That too. They wont waste their time on that either probably. If they did it would be like the dupes where only about 1/4 of them get reset.

Reset progression. It has been 24 hours. The longer you wait the more people will bemoan “the grind” they incurred to get their items and status (some of them honestly and thus I’m sympathetic). If you can just rollback the fort XP, do that, if not, take the plunge and reset it all.

Call it a test run, call them out explicitly, I don’t care. But enough is enough of just letting people get out ahead of others.

With all due respect, and I really mean that, the game doesn’t have an awesome history of taking corrective action when something unfair happened.

Honestly one of them most fun I’ve had in a long time in New World.
Wiping a whole faction so the other one can join.
The only person you can thank for this “exploit” is Ags and running missions in GC is way better anyways.

They wont ban anyone because the people fort flipping are their most dedicated players.

You guys need a life lol. How about the devs think of a better in game solution that isn’t exploitable? You sound like the same cry babies that wanted to get people in trouble for xp farming in Restless.

Exactly. Everyone left is their core audience.

Well its quite sad to see that all game companies are so ‘carebear’ about touching exploiters. Then later they are wondering why their games are turning bad with low population and full of toxic brats.

From the very beginning ppl should have been banned for all kind of abuse. Period to be decided depending of their exploit type.

Dupers were also dedicated players, hatchet abusers were also dedicated players, gold sellers/buyers are also dedicated players … every abuse/exploit is made by dedicated players, cuz if somebody dont care about the abuse/exploit they just wont use it. But everybody else who is game dedicated/competitive if are abusing any type of exploit, bug, hack they should be punished!

Being dedicated should never be an excuse.
