Setting a different tone

Yep, that’s what I play after a spicy meal :stuck_out_tongue:

I luckily transferred to a busy server, not everyone was so lucky

The one I transferred to was respectable, but only for a week then it died and got worse than the one I left.

And that’s the predicament that all these “new tone” people don’t want to consider.

I really loved the game as well, but not anymore, its mostly become a buggy mess that feels more like a chore than a game.

Ironically its the missing bankspace and Azoth fast travel that made me quit.
Offcourse the 100 other things didnt make it better either.

The fact that i have to grind for money, grind for azoth, grind for crafting just made the game more like work than an actual game.

Logging in to get crafting going, and have to reorganize banking space over and over to get room in several different towns was just a pain and a frustrating experience.
And the fact that workbenches could get downgraded at random just made it worse.

I quit 2 weeks ago, had some withdrawls, but now im just glad i did after recent changes.
I feel like a wheight have been lifted from my shoulders.
Is that how i should feel after quitting?

The developers could have fixed this game by concentrating on 5-10 issues but instead made new issues.
They deserve to go belly up tbh.
Ive never ever thought that developers can be so blind over obvious things that are turning people away from their own game.

Its like they dont play their own game.
Anyway, sorry for the negative response, but i dont see how these developers can turn it around.
Its a shitshow.

It’s a game, that’s all. I’ve never understood why people get so emotionally involved in the games that they play. It’s not family or a lover.

IV never played the “heavy meta” I play medium. And haven’t wiped yet my man.

Well if you played medium then the nerfs reduced your healing slightly.

I play heavy not for meta but because its what helps my group the most.

No, just quit.
I did :+1:
Problem solved

Well, yes you can appreciate a flawed product or parts of it you find good. Who am I to judge. I’m not a perfectionist either and sometimes, flaws can be the beauty. I agree.

The game’s combat system is not well-thought. Not even close. For example there is no diminishing return for CC which makes GvG terrible. A well thought out system would have included at least some form of CC reduction after a certain point, if not immunity. So I do not agree with you here. Abilities still fail to register time to time. A 30 level lower level mob can stagger a player.

Visuals are good, sounds are OK; some good some bad. Let’s say personal taste and call it good for it appeals to most people.

But damn the lack of quality… Perks not working, lack of Quality of Life features. Every time I enter an Outpost Rush I have to re-arrange my consumables… And I have to do it during the match.

Cannot even search for my main attribute in trade station. Not even asking for an upper price limit as a search option or anything advanced.

You kill mobs, loot chests. Then have to salvage every single useless item in your inventory 1 by 1. I wanna slap the developers with a tuna and scream “let me at least select them and salvage them together”.

I cannot arrange my inventory while running. I cannot tell you how much I hate not being able to do it.

Until a week ago I could not even make high GS weapons cause they forgot to add arcana materials to the game. Imagine experiencing this after putting the effort required to 200 arcana, making plans for it. Let me assure you. It wasn’t good

For me, personal opinion here, for a product to be called “quality” it needs to surpass a certain threshold. I don’t think this game surpasses that threshold.

Its like a small developer studio suddenly had to take responibility making an AAA game.

Who could have thought it would go wrong

I’m all about being supportive and giving the dev team the benefit of a doubt, including having defended against the excessive malice on here…

But, my god, that last update really just wrecked things so badly. Changes to the PvP and crafting systems are completely overshadowed by changes that made zergs nearly a requirement in endgame areas, completely decimated solo play in nearly all high level regions (and even duo play,) introduced even some of the worse lag I’ve seen in this game since it released AND over-nerfed magic weapons, gave dex weapons next to nothing and buffed the only weapons that are way overtuned right now (mostly on abilities not used much - but what difference does it make - there’s no reason to switch off the tried-and-true skills that already dominate all content.)

That some of those most impactful changes were done without saying a word initially just made it sting much worse. The worst part about all that though is that we don’t even know when/if they are going to properly remedy it in any timely manner. This patch should have been rolled back immediately and put back in development and on the PTR - and we have no idea when to expect anything.

All while many players basically can’t progress in the game, especially those on servers already hurting for people. I just honestly would have expected at least a little more urgency in their response than what I am seeing.

What is AGS paying you in to write this nonsense? Seriously, I could use a few extra bucks, maybe coin.

I see the whole thing from a slightly different perspective. If the game were really that bad and everything sucked, there wouldn’t be so many posts in the forum. Players would just stop playing because they wouldn’t care if the game was really bad.

People love the game and are afraid that AGS will ruin it. If you want to compare it, people are trying to protect “their child”.

Most of the issues you mention, even when they are true and aggravating, they are but small details compared to the big picture.

  • Implementing diminishing returns to CC, or plainly CC immunity after being CC’d, is something that can be done in a patch. It doesn’t involve a whole redesign of anything.
I don’t mind the staggering mechanism. Not even from lower level mobs.
  • Quality of Life features are important. But most games launch without most of them. QoL is what you expect to come as a game matures. Still, it’s not a fundamental design flaw or anything. It’s just UI refining that is needed
  • The trade UI is lacking a lot of features. There is no argument there. Again, though, it’s nothing that can’t be easily fixed during a patch. It’s just UI work.
  • Salvaging massive amount of loot isn’t such a problem. I just hold S and click on the first item in the bunch, then they all “go thru the grinder” into repair parts. A “Salvage all” could be handy, but I would expect a lot of “mistakes”. Players who forgot to lock their legendary gear befor clicking that Doomsday button.
  • About the inventory while running, I used to think the same as you. But then I realized that if we could rearrange the inventory while running, it would allow people with macro hardware, to switch weapons and armor during combat, to benefit from multiple perks and passives.
  • Missing recipes and ingredients is, again, unfortunate, but nothing flawed deep inside the core of the game. Just an oversight fixable in a patch.

Indeed, a product full with imperfections can’t be said to have big quality.
But I see NW more like a quality product currently covered in mud and grime. It just needs some polish to make it shine…

you realize this game is as far from the original vision as it could possibly be ?

I enjoyed many aspects of this game such as design, detail, core concept feature.

but in the same time I’m also boring for how this unfinished game has done such as they put a new patch and then others thing which never bugged it’s become bugs. Patch after patch and still the same.

I know everyone doesn’t want it to happen even me as a players or AGS but it is what it is. I don’t know what happens on AGS internally but the new patch just like kick in the hardcore player ass. I know they’re doing their best but It’s less enjoyable game as well.

The original version was what we got on release. So if you a referring to some 2 year old alpha version that was destroyed by PKers, you are living very far in the past when it comes to games.

One of the problems we observed with this system was that some high level players were killing low level players, A LOT. Sometimes exclusively. This often led to solo or group griefing scenarios that created a toxic environment for many players. To be clear, this behavior was not shown by all PvP players, but enough to cause significant issues.

To be specific, by PvP we mean, fair fights that are organized, skill based, and opted into by all participants. Not PKing (Player Killing), which is a predatory behavior that relies on exploiting another player’s lack of experience, progress, readiness, or willingness. So for those folks who desire that harsh PVP environment, New World may not be your favorite game

Hey it’s the devs words not mine
