Setting a different tone

Personally I still have some hope. Yet I think one of the issues we have is expectations that are a bit higher than they naturally should be at the time.

The quote above is one of those that should be reexamined. I do think many if not a majority of the bugs will be dealt with as soon as it’s feasible. They have nothing to gain by failing. Yet I do think that all bugs being gone in a month is probably setting any group of devs up for missing the mark.

It wasn’t till a year or so after launch that I started playing WoW and they had a long train of issues that seemed never ending. Their forums were full of vitriol about the devs not caring, what was perceived to be broken, that fixes weren’t good at all, nothing was balanced neither PvE or PvP. Players had a list of grievances that seemed impossible to catch up on.

People made false equivalencies like comparing the release of a car to the release of a video game. Posters not only attacked devs but threatened them. They said they wanted those who disagreed with them to die of cancer. All that and possibly worse happened on the forums.

In spite of all that WoW improved eventually people grew to understand that patches led to issues. Those issues were resolved as quickly as possible. WoW over time learned how to minimize those issues.

I talk too much. I suppose I could summarize by saying everything has a learning process and AGS gains little by failing.

Don’t worry about it my man, I’m big enough and old enough to ignore it! Have a good day bud
