I didn’t lie, I lost track of time because the game is so fun.
I see you gave up on quoting since it was such a struggle for you.

I think this game is build heavily around fantasy. You need Azoth to teleport around, the storage is separated by towns etc. Some of the fantasy elements I like, some become a bit cumbersome in the long run.
I think the storage system needs a bit of a rethink from AGS. I can understand the logic behind settlement loyalty, but on the other hand I think that loyalty needs to come from other means rather than tying down your stored items. Perks and building reputation with the settlement that give perks is in my opinion a better solution.
Though given that we already have storage that is separated by settlement, they should build more around warehouses and have a transfer time between warehouses. Say you want to move something from your storage to another town in large quantities that would end up with several trip or some costly use of Azoth. Instead you move your items to the warehouse and buy a transport from it using gold. Depending on how much you want to move and the distance, it takes anywhere from 20 minutes to a day. Price depending on weight.
I think such a system would fit nicely with the already established fantasy. It could even be that you upgrade the warehouse and transporters through settlement actions, to decrease cost and transfer time.
I think the system as is right now is just fine. I do not have a problem with having enough Azoth to teleport when I want to and the rest of the time I enjoy the run and gather along the way. I very much appreciate that this game isn’t a carbon copy cookie cutter MMO like almost every other game out there right now.
This is exactly what I was thinking.
Why not give it company control so they can make tax off people transporting goods.
They need something. Resource distribution doesn’t work with the portal system.
I’m not talking about running and gather along the way.
I’m talking about what happens when you’re a gatherer that has to go to specific places to gather specific things, and how much it ends up costing to get get these things to the right places.
At later levels if you do things that do not net azoth, that require you to move around with a lot of weight, you end up having to do a LOT of running instead of teleporting.
1.5 hours of gathering was zero azoth, and will cost me 200 to get the material back to where I need it… That’s just an hour and half.
All of a sudden those 30-40 azoth trips I was used to became 150-300.
PS: Guys, please also consider that making people spend a lot of time running when they CAN’T do other things doesn’t contribute anything to the game.
You say none of what I said has to do with how the game works then you go on into things I didn’t even discuss. Not sure you’re replying to the right person. If you are, you put way too little detail in what you were saying that it seems like it doesn’t apply to what I said.
I get quite a lot of Azoth from gathering, the majority of mine actually comes from gathering.
I spend hours gathering and then moving the mats around. I gather in one zone and sell in another just because prices are better in that town’s market. I am quite familiar with the need to take large amounts of resources and move them around. If I really want/need to make the move quickly I spend the Azoth to teleport, otherwise I take the time to run them.
You are arguing for convenience, which is certainly your right to do so. The system isn’t broken and in fact I personally think it works fine. This game was not designed to be “quick and convenient” like many other games. It could simply be that your expectations of the game and the game design decisions do not align. That certainly happens a lot in life.
Why is everyone teleporting everywhere? I think I teleport once a night to be honest. The rest of the time Im running and harvesting stuff…hitting mobs to help people I pass…stopping to listen to muskets, axes and pickaxes and looking for book pages.
Ugh… I have not even started the journey of finding all the pages… there is so much other stuff to do… and collect… and collect… oh and then collect…
You should take over both settlements.
I have no problems transporting stuff.
The only way to get 500 Azoth in just a couple of quests is when you still have your main story quest as well as some side quests. Once you hit 60 and are mostly through with all non-repeatable quests, Azoth is a lot harder to get. You’ll need to farm portals for ~2 hours everytime you’re low on Azoth. Whether 2 hours of portal farm every once in a while is too much or not, that is up for everyone to decide for himself.
Please keep begging for store sold azoth so we can be microtransactioned.
Yeah Mr. Fried Chicken here follows me around to almost every thread I am in and very rarely post on the topic at hand just cries about me. I would take what he says with a grain of salt he certainly has a weird, awkward crush on me. I aint fried chicken bud go outside…
People’s view on whether azoth is easy to get or whether or not the cost of teleporting is fine is going to be highly dependent on which faction they are in, on their respective server. Member of the zerg faction that makes up 75% of the population and has 8/11 territories - Azoth is easy to get and the cap is too low. Everyone else - Azoth is too hard to acquire and we need other options.
My faction owns 2 territories. We are not the dominant force on our server. I do not see a problem at all with Azoth or the current system.
The view is just going to be based on how people want/expect to play the game. Everyone comes in to the game with their own expectations or ideas of what makes a game fun. That is just the way life is. So the real question is, can you be ok with the system the way it is or is that a deal breaker for you? The system may or may not change over time, but the game has only been out for 2 weeks and I would not expect any major changes anytime soon.
Azoth is super easy to get though…basic mobs drop it. Just leave the starter territories, and fight enemies lvl20+

Hey did I tell you “Your Azoth is almost capped”?
I had a thought the other day about adding a pull-wagon with a crazy amount of weight… You could load it and run from settlement to settlement. Once you’re attached, you can’t fight - It’s specifically for moving items. This would let us move large quantities much faster.
I’m not sure how this would manifest entirely but I feel like there has to be a middle-ground between running with items on-foot and straight teleporting items between settlements.
Let’s not go too far here. As much as we all want an immersive game, it’s still a game and we don’t want to get annoyed playing it. We all want to have fun and I don’t want to have to wait 5 minutes for a stack of items to get transferred over.
PRO TIP for azoth - corruption portals. the lower the faster. when I’m low on azoth I go do low lvl portals. Also killing higher mobs with luck gear drops a lot more vials. I feel like people complain about this stuff without even trying to find out how it works. or even a better way to do something. its like taking the long way complaining how far it is but never seeing there was a path that was 1/4 of the distance. This is why you need to explore and find. people are so use to everything being handed to them in games. always trying to find ways to play the game less. instead of playing to find ways to play more efficient. “GIVE MORE” “MAKE EASIER” “MOUNTS” “COST LESS” Just play the game. I promise you all those things resolve themselves once you learn to use them the right way, and all those boohoos will fade away.
