Shattered Mountain should be PVP-flag only & have risk

I think you are looking at the OP a little too literal, I may be wrong but I assume he would like a high level pvp only zone and shattered is merely an example. Me personally I would prefer a pvp server where you start fresh and experience the game the way many of us PVPers were always meant to.

For the sake of implementing this quickly, I think Shattered Mountain should have this concept implemented. A completely new territory where this is implemented would be ideal, but I don’t feel like waiting an entire year for that to come out.

Really? I don’t:

For some people, thats the only way they can win. But thats not what this thread is, they want to kill bots on the ori nodes.

I think the very first PvP addition that should be made not counting PvP arenas but regarding the open world should be kills inside fort against faction owning territory give 1% influence.

Kills against non owning faction players give .5% influence.

Kills on enemy faction as owning company faction, reduce BOTH influences by .5%

If you think more incentive should be involved, every 30 kills you achieve inside a fort, the player drops an OPR chest.

Also, they could make it the entire shattered mountain zone if you want. Enter a dark Portal that takes you to the corrupted version of Aeternum and it’s shattered mountain but everything is corrupted.

Technically instanced.

I just feel like a mini version of a territory should be made loaded with mats to force close proximity farming when it comes to players and nodes to force fights rather than a bunch of big open spaces.

They had this in game already at one point, lawless areas. They were removed.

The original concept was great, unique and was a lot of fun. Was it for everyone? No… absolutely not but they could have dominated a niche market instead of being a massive failure.

They needed to refine the criminal system and build on their sandbox, not try to turn into another crappy themepark that players chew through and spit out in a month.

Even moving to a heavier PvE game, I really think their biggest mistake was moving away from a sandbox, that was what the game was excelling at…. Instead, well you know what they did and continue to do.

Hard pass.

I am for a pvp only zone, one with legitimate pvp based objectives, one with a reward track for pvp but it should mirror accessible pve content not gate it.

Just removing acess unless your flaged to a majority of end game content is the wrong way to handle it. We have many pve centric players in new world who would leave due to a change like this.

I got it. PvP mode, 5v5 where it’s like search and destroy. But it’s in an expedition with no NPC’s.

There’s a Box in the caretakers garden or just somewhere random, it’s highlighted and your team has to pick the lock and open the chest. Best 2/3 first team to pick the lock wins.
On the 2nd win, the chest becomes lootable and it has random expedition boss drops like if you killed said boss.

So essentially, it’s PvP track for PvE rewards. Queue up for 5v5 Loot Snatchers and best 2/3 wins one random boss drop equivalent in a chest.

I say one because 2/3 would be a lot faster than doing the dungeon itself. Boss drops are RNG.

i agree with a ā€œpvp zoneā€, my only concern would be the union of two factions or some big guilds to ā€œmonopolizeā€ the place. We already had examples of this in other games like Tibia. Maybe being a territory where everyone was enemies except your guild, would be more ā€œbalancedā€

At the start i was playing solo and didnt want forced PVP. Than i got an active guild in activly waring faction and started to want PVP. My guild ended month ago and i was againg plyaing solo and started to not want forced PVP again :slight_smile:

I think that there was more than enough time(couple of years)between when that changed and release for anyone who was here for the ā€œhardcore PvPā€ to decide that they didn’t want to play a totally different game.

In short. PvE wasn’t forced on you lol.

I don’t think doing this in Shatttered Mountains is a good idea, now doing it in new and smaller areas? Yes, why not!

I wish the PvE focused players that joined a pvp sandbox alpha would of had that attitude instead of joining a game they had no interest in (in its current form) and then crying about it.

It’s easy to say it’s a PvE game, it’s the direction they chose… if you don’t like it don’t play. Back in the day I had the same attitude with the people jumping in alpha expecting a themepark when the devs were upfront about the original vision.

Too bad the team didn’t have the spine to take the risk. Dominate a niche or fail on a massive scale. Good call

You definitely have a point about the PvE players playing the PvP game back then, but from what I remember, The vocal majority was of the opinion that the way the game was…was bad. It was too toxic. People literally could not leave towns.

Obviously they did the right thing if they wanted to make any money at all off of new world.

Bad idea, would be a disaster for most players, fun for a very few.

Groups of PvPers grouped up running around ganking people who don’t want anything to do with PvP.

Ranked 3v3 is in the works, you will be pitted against other players your skill level in a fair fight.

When people think of these ideas, they invision themselves killing others. They don’t think about people getting camped and unable to play the game.

Exactly this. Like if we don’t know how a huge % of PvPers minds work.

Imagine PvE players that reached level 60 and want to do their first arms in a high level area like Shattered Mountain and they see their gaming experience completely destroyed, ending with a I-don’t-want-to-ever-put-a-foot-here (in Shattered Mountain) sense of frustration due to being constantly harassed, followed, stalked, killed, killed and re-killed by those ā€œI have to kill everything that movesā€ PvPers that end camping spawn areas so the PvE guys can’t even have a happy second out of the safe zone.

Like if we don’t know how those PvPers work. Like if New World was the first game with PvP that ever existed and so we don’t know. :wink:

the ganking is real in this game. it seems like their only joy is bullying others. really toxic and If they catered to this Like I said in another post. I’d uninstall. it’s not the game I bought.
