Shield Attribute Bug ( Still not fixed unbelievable )

What is unbelievable is that this post hasn’t been flagged, and closed already…

This isn’t a bug, it’s intended… The shield cannot be equipped or “taken out” without a sword. The shield and sword are a SINGLE entity and the stats only work while they are unsheathed.

The moment you sheath the sword, ALL stats from the sword AND the shield are removed. This has been like this since day one…

This is why there is no 0-20 Shield weapon category and only the sword 0-20 levels with shield skills incorporated into the talent trees…

Such effort on this point but no effort on research…

How can you think this was a bug, when it was literally given to you this way since day one, including during beta?.. You aren’t missing anything at all because you never had it…

No, because then non-sword users get bonus perks that sword users will never have available. It should recognize that if slot 1&2 has sword, if statement is true, stats are applied. Its not complicated.

Okay, so when your secondary weapon is put away, you shouldn’t be allowed the stats from it. /Solved

Thanks to the Winderupdate i for my part now thiunk that the fix is NOT an easy one.

Why?
Look at the 520 Sword and shield you can buy in the winter event.
They have 25 attribute points EACH. They forgott to half it!
This means that the Attribute distribution is not a 100% complete automated system.
The question stands “how” they are allocated.
Is it based on affix name?
Are the attributes calcuted ONCE and then it is permanent in the database?
Are attributes calculated at ALL or are all weapon combinations already a fixed value in the database?

It really depends how they codet it. To many diffrent ways to do this.

And since this problem is somewhere at the bottom of the AGS todo list we will have to fight a little longer to c a fix for it. Or to get a usefull answer to it.

And hey. The idea that u never get the attribute points of your second weapon, so you only get the attribute points of the weapon you have in hand, would also work for me .)

So apparently you do not Understand how Attributes work on Weapons. when you Sheath your Secondary weapon you do not loose the attribute points gained from equipping it. However when you sheath the sword and shield you loose 1/2 because you only gain the attribute points from the sword… So working as intended does not make sense as if it did then every other weapon in game when on your back should provide 1/2 its benefit attribute point wise.

Don’t expect someone who hasn’t spend hundreds of hours with a SS in hand to understand how broken this system is and how they know it needs fixing and have just left it as is.

Well, SnS may get fewer attributes, but at least they get to do two “expertises” for one weapon!

I see where this @sux2bu is coming from, I can see how its frustrating and as a sword and shield user it defo is annoying but I came to terms with it, as a tank I always have my sword out and only pull my hammer out to rend and cc and swap straight back to my sword to tank again.

The attribute points should 100% all be on the sword it just makes a bit more sense and get rid of the attribute points on shield. Dont even care if they dont give shields a gem slot.

This should not be considered as a bug rather a balance change.

But a more pressing issue are the oversights in War, the defending side can leap out the fort from the wall of the fort and get to the attackers war camp before the attackers have fully left. I would suggest ethier adding an invisable wall to the defenders wall that prevents them from jumping off but allows projectiles and dmg to be let through and also add an invisable wall that prevents defenders from reaching a certain point at the war camp. Right now the attackers if they lose the initial push they get punished by the attackers till the end of the war by war hammer and great axe CC at the doors. The defenders can split the entire army 4 ways and block all doors if they are well coordinated. Sorry I hijacked your thread but some issues are more important

When I have my LS out VS my SS im 3 levels lower than any other level 60 player. Just wrap your head around that.

struggling to understand 5 attribute points = 1 level of character progression at level 50+ so every time a SS user at 60 with a sword puts it away the lose 3 Character levels of Attribute points.

Imagine if you where level 60 and forced down to level 57 every time you weapon swapped.

I started questioning if they are even capable of a fix.

No offense but it can be fixed within some minutes if you just think about it. It feels like you dont want to fix it. It was even on your “Buglist” at 4th nov.

Playing Sword/shield as second weapon feels so bad with missing attributes and i actually crafted my gear for that specc in hope that AGS will fix that in a short time. But waiting for months now. Fix your game or more player will be frustrated like me

Why are you surprised that is the target audience of this game …
People who cant see the flaws of this game and easy to please with a below average product, and be fooled by couple of dev posts and blogs full of lies.

I’d be fine to move all attributes to the sword, and make shields only have s&s-related perks. taunt should also be a perk on the shield, so we can avoid carnelian in the sword and be on-par with other weapons.

It’s a bug because you don’t lose stats when putting away any other weapon

Btw. switching all attribute points to sword is STILL the best solution

And just to say it: It is UNFAIR that S&S needs 2 gearscore 600 items to get 30 attribute points. If you have 599 shield and 599 sword you only get 28!
