It’s only been a day since the update and now every game in outpost rush has half the players running with shields. Even muskets now run sword&shield as secondary, because they just get extra perks for their musket.
You can now get your other primary set (any weapon that isn’t the sword&shield) to have Keen, Keenly Empowered, Keenly Fortified, Vicious and then something else, by having some of the perks be on the shield. Hell, you can even have something like Sundering Riposte on your shield and it will work on your rapier. The sword weapon you’re practically only using as a stat-stick (and shield bash)… And it’s actually looking to be really meta.
it wouldn’t be so bad if the meta wasn’t use it with BB it gives you 3 perks BUT your armor is reduced IMO fair trade off . Im liking spear/sns bow and bow/sns LOL
I’ve used SnS a long time before, because the shield bash allows for some cheeky assassin builds… But now it’s just way too strong.
In my server the meta hasn’t really moved towards BB… I’ve seen on youtube what the build is capable of, sure it’s strong once every 20 seconds, but then the rest of those 20 seconds it’s also quite ass.
The issue in this thread is how using SnS allows you to run extra perks on your other set. Which makes it an insanely strong supporting stat-stick, alongside it already being quite a decent weapon because of the shield bash, gap closure and defiant stance.
I applaud AGS for really working hard to try and make the shield more effective for tank classes and such but honestly AGS you overdid yourself. We were asking for attributes to be applied, having perks is an overload considering shields even have 3 perks on non legendary.
Yeah its a weird sight to see SnS being the bis secondary for musket. Double enchanted, double keen and keenly jagged can make a fun combo with infamy. And you dont even have to dodge to fight enemy musketeers just hold up your shield while reloading, actually its pretty funny.
i didnt used it yet because i like the rapier more and you cant get in medium range with medium dodge musket/sns but still it looks fun for those that likes to camp.
