Shimmering/Grainy vegetation, Anti Aliasing issues?

I’m having problems with Vegetation in New World appearing Grainy/Shimmery, especially in the distance. I have a 1920/1080p set up and as I understand it, Anti Aliasing is essential for 1080p monitors to have a good visual experience but there’s no way for me to control the AA in New World.

I was wondering if some one could help me, perhaps something in the files can be modified? I’ve gone through my GPU and enabled all settings to help with AA. I’ve gone through numerous games and I have no issues with any of them except NW.

Hello @CaptainGarp,

Hope you are doing well.

I apologize for the inconvenience caused to you for which I’d suggest you to kindly go through the troubleshooting steps mentioned on :arrow_double_down:

In case this does not work then please contact our live support through chat by clicking on :arrow_double_down:

That way we can receive the pertinent information to help you with this.

Be sure to have your Dxdiag logs ready in case they ask for them so that they can submit a ticket for the developers to check if needed.

Instructions for finding the in-game logs:

  1. Press Windows+R on the keyboard, type %appdata% and press enter.
  2. Open the most recent file from this folder: /AppData/local/AGS/LogBackups.
  3. Paste the contents of the file into your message.

Hope this helps. :magic_wand:

set Low graphics preset and it’s gone, or use nvidia image sharpening (set it to 25%)

Appreciate the help, i’ll give it a shot.

Sadly neither of these seemed to help much

maybe i get you wrong, does that Grainy/Shimmery is like edgy (like without AA) or it’s more like blurry because of AA?

It’s the lack of AA that causes this usually

Yeah I don’t know why customer service asks you to troubleshoot when it’s clearly just a lack of graphics features. They need to add DX12 support for DLSS etc and then add the extra graphics options alongside this. Then they can claim to have updated the graphics settings as a feature to an update, this would be great for there game anniversary or brimstone sands update. Though I doubt this will happen due to them not being able to implement these basic graphics settings.
