New World is much different than pretty much any other MMO though where you really only have 1 character and there isn’t a need to make additional ones. If it’s actually 90 days, that’s basically saying that you just won’t play the game for 90 days, period. I am banking on maybe contacting support via email or something and seeing if they can make it happen behind the scenes but they probably won’t.

Any update by chance? I have the same issue with my wife as I didn’t assume they would lock a name to an account for 90 days…that is beyond ridiculous. I pretty much woke up at 2 am to log into my laptop just to reserve her name and now she can’t use it due to this.

Hi, I am having the same issue, I just contacted the support and it seems that they are very aware of it and are working on a solution

Just to update for those curious, it’s been over a day now and the name I deleted 10s after taking it yesterday, it’s still not available to another account.
Name continues to be available for me though, even though I don’t want it. Imagine the amount of unused names (considering it’s globally unique) locked for 3 months now.

I’m posting here because i have the same problem: my friend take the name for me and now i’m stuck

Hope there will be an official statment soon, because i need to know if i have to wait reasonable time or simply use another name ahah.

Como tampoco puede ser que la previsión para este tipo de posibles trabas a la hora de iniciar el juego, no estuvieran consideradas por parte de los desarrolladores.
Y digo de nuevo, no es admisible que estés en cola, te dé un error y tengas que volver a empezar la cola de cero…
Thank you for the update. My spouse was told that name reservation has no expiry and it is locked to your account forever. I have raised multiple tickets and been told different things every time. Really hope they do something about it.

I also asked the support today and got told it is locked to my account forever.
Was too shocked to take a screenshot of it or else would have posted it now
I think if we keep opening tickets regarding this matter it may help. I am away on vacation so my friend saved my name but I guess until they fix this issue or update it I’ll be playing my alt character
90 day lock is crazy. Release names in 24 hours.

Another classic case of support teams that are completely disconnected from the product they support. It’s like the devs are locked away in a dark vault somewhere and no one in the customer server department knows their phone number to find out a simple answer. I bet the devs don’t even read this forum… Prove me wrong devs…
