Should I carry a shield?

Asking for a friend…seriously. :slight_smile:

We see lots of people with shields, but they don’t have swords. Is there a reason to carry a shield? Do you get the stat benefits or protection?

If you don’t have sword… shield is just extra weight for your active armor… So if you are heavy armor then having the shield is just eye candy

If you are light/medium… it adds to the weight and could push you over a category…

Besides asthetic, the stats will only be active when you use it in combination with a sword, so I would not recommend in. Damage on the Shield only counts for shield damage skills.

Heavy armor meta, you are arealdy heavy, then you can use a shield for the looks.
Or like myself, I have every STR weapon ready to be used in my inventory, then I can just use a sword whenever I feel like, so the shield is there.

But if you are not using a sword it’s useless (and you have to be actively using the sword, if it’s sheated you lose the shield status even if it’s your main weapon at the moment)
