For someone who seems to meditate al lot, you sure are a really angry person.
Perhaps some self-service would help give you the release you need? No need to be so angry and hostile about a video game.
It depends on your approach, If you want to sink over 8hrs a day 7 days a week for 100 consecutive days to catch up and be competitive in endgame, you’ll be fine. Otherwise, it’s going to be very difficult as progression in this game is vertical and will take you around 8 months with casual play style to reach where ppl are now.
I’d say it’s worthwhile to hop in enjoy the game, open world, hit cap get some regular gear, enjoy some PvP until your gear is irrelevant, then you can shelve the game. The game is great, the combat is unique, worth the try.
Those things does not affect you much so no reason not to play the game. It is a fun PvE game to go from 1-60 and then do some lvl 60 expeditions(=dungeons). Then, after that, the game becomes repetitive but it should still give you 1-200 hours of enjoyable content.
IMO is worth 40 bucks is not a wealth, you can try, in the beggining game is great, after reaching 60 lvl game becomes very repetive something like grind simulator. PVE gives much more fun in small group cuz it is hard. PVP is dead content not worth cuz if carebears who dont want full loot pvp cuz they are afraids of losing their pixels ( Thats why I came back to Albion, nobody cry, losing gear is something normal), also game has a lot of unfixed bugs since start. Dupe bugs are not a problem anylonger they removed all duped gold and items (I bought few and they took them away) but I got my money back so no problem. Sum up I will not reccomend this title to anyone until devs will not fix desync, weapon swap bugs.

If you want to spend like 200-300 hours and treat this as a single player survival / crafting game - probably u can , Otherwise just dont

Im sad to say that : No… I was very active and defending the game but they definetly lose me after several failure and communication and the last video about the future confort me in my decision… The entire team of AGS or maybe the guys who take decisions have to be fired. ASAP. No Roadmap, 0 content. Mutations coming is a joke. Nothing new for pvp “MAYBE” more information in the month of “MARS”. well dont waste your time if you are pvp players run away, if you are pve player run away . Im sad to tell you that but there is the current fact.

If I didn’t play from the beginning , no chance in hell I would start now . Grinding and the grinding after that you need to win the lottery to be competitive for 1 patch .
Even starting the game now is difficult for new player because of 1 thing. Corruption. When we started, the portals weren’t there, and when we could do them, we cleared them. Now we don’t. The low level ones are everywhere restricting the movement of low level players. And those who do manage to get through, play through a thick fog obstructing what we know as vast landscapes of hillsides, trees, nodes and resources. They can’t learn the map as easily as it’s all just a haze.
The only real thing a new player can do if joining today is do not level up anything on the top line of your skills but only focus on gathering and refining. As you can at least try and make some money selling those. Crafting of any sort is an absolute chore, even worse than housework such as cleaning and doing the dishes. The main story campaign is okay. The side quests are too repetitive as well ad the town boards.
$40 will be well worth it for the hours they put in. Although, it isn’t your typical mmo and the quests are all the same 3 things and gets extremely boring fast. I know all other mmos have these types of quests also but most them also add a lot of different type quests, scenarios, cut scenes, cinematics, etc. And imo are no where near as boring as this questing system.
I still think some will enjoy the game. It will be hard though for new players to do low level Expeditions and elite quests since not many run those nor are in areas of a lot of the elite quests. If they end up on one of the low pop servers then they definitely won’t see many of this stuff. They really need to add an Expedition Finder like all other mmos do (well most of them anyways) along with the same type of thing for Elite quests like WoW does.
The lack of end game affects everyone and not just new players so I won’t talk about the huge lack of end game which is kind of big in mmos as it keeps people subbed. But adding grind system after grind system just for gear which isn’t even a fun system, is another thing I bet why people left.
Either way, I feel new players will get their $40 worth for sure. The world in general is awesome.

Behind these fake words is a guy who’s goal is to cause detrimental harm to the game by scaring away potential new players that MIGHT read the forums first.
Luckily for us & him, Players dont tend to read forums before a game purchase… Hell, most dont even read the forums even after playing.
But at the end of the day, You’re still butthurt that you got banned for duping/exploitation and this is your attempts at “revenge”… 
Yeah, the Devs are opening up th ability to buy the game soon, I recommend buying the endwalker full edition after you finish HW on the free trial

It depends on yours goals.
Light entertainment? Maybe. $40 isn’t a lot and there’s a good amount of content for that price.
Hardcore pvx? Probably not, unless you are a masochist.
- Endgame PvE content is very minimal. Mutators should improve this a bit.
- Endgame PvP is laggy, imbalanced, and contains multiple movement bugs that require a full relog to fix (very disruptive for wars).
- If you want to get involved in wars you will have to join a big guild or make a name for yourself to maybe get picked up. I see this complaint a lot from new players. As an original player I can get into any war on my server even though I barely play and am probably worse at this point. Part of this is because there is no good way to prove yourself since scoring is really bad and favors damage padding or heal padding. Tanks get no love.
- Duping exploits, botting, and a self-imposed inflation via the “temporary” housing tax reduction has really fucked with the economy making it even harder for new players to catch up.
- While most games make it easier for new players to catch up over time, AGS has decided to make it more difficult via the new expertise changes. New players will have to grind more than current players to get to 600gs and will not be able to purchase cheap high GS items as a starter set to be competitive as this will be downscaled to their current GS (500) whereas current players will be grandfathered in.

I could only recommend this game if you’re into hardcore grind without rewards.
Otherwise maybe wait until they add ‘pay to advance’ items to the cash shop.
