Maybe let new players decide? I don’t think it’s my decision nor yours or anyone else’s what a person elects to do with their time and money. That being said, informed and detailed reviews on Steam and elsewhere can help to provide information about the experience.
Its like there are 2 different versions of the game because I have not once been affected by a bug in any way. There are way too many weirdos on this forum that complain about everything to try and get advice here. Try it if you want, don’t if you don’t want to. Its only 40 bucks, I spend twice that filling up my gas tank.
Asking here is pointless really.
It’s the same cast of characters circle jerking over video game failures. All you will get is the same parroted info from the exact same folk over and over again. Just don’t eat the cracker.
It’s their job after all.
Truth: Game isn’t ready for prime time if someone is expecting smooth sailing. Check back later. It’s fun, but it has issues that need to be fixed.

To get the most out of the $40 I paid for a game that I won’t play again until all the stuff that is broken is fixed.

I quit literally last night after my company lost both of it’s areas including EF due to the wars going ahead during planned maintenance and when everyone logged back in with only 9 minutes of the wars remaining only 10 invites got sent out to the defender side while the full attacking rosters got sent invitations and won the areas for free. While writing a ticket about this I also saw this post. This game is not worth the time put in do not play it.

It’s worth it, bugs and all…just don’t take it too serious and just have fun for what it is/isn’t right now…I have over 800 hours and still playing…but I’m the type that loves the grind…super chill for me, put on some movie or show and just grind away….the first few hundred hours are really quite good and engaging….so you’ll get your money’s worth.

I definitely would not recommend this game as it is right now. Maybe I’m a bit biased because of a few things but I feel it’s a decent opinion

We aren’t all cheaters and exploiters… they’re the small minority… so yes… if you got the game… come play it. Listen to me complain all the time.
I think the game is hella fun leveling with friends… With that said yes new players should play the game. As endgame goes its a work in progress
It is certainly worth a one off $40. If you are one of those folks who want it to be your future home for the rest of your natural life then I don’t know, but it is definitely worth the one off price.
Oh, and if you see some one with 600 hours in it saying it is not worth it they probably lack a little credibility.

I’m still enjoying the game for what it is. I invested $55.00 and have gotten well over 600 hours of enjoyment. Sure there have been frustrating times but as long as AGS continues to work on their game and address issues , I’ll continue playing.

This is pretty simple:
Is $40 an at all significant sum to you and you need to budget your game-buying dollars? Well, if you compare it to other games at the same price point it’s going to depend on your expectations. Some people will say that it’s fair to compare enjoyable hours played against a comparably priced RPG - which typically top out at or under 100 hours to fully beat the game. If that’s your yardstick then this is probably a good buy even if you only get a couple hundred hours of fun out of it.
Is $40 a pizza delivery with some extras while you watch some Netflix and you don’t think about the money you just spent? Hell yes, buy the game.
Personally, I think it’s worth it even if you’re looking for a new MMO to hopefully call home. Now some people here will assume my squire is out back polishing up my white knight armor but after more than a year of being involved here, bugs and all, I think the game still has great bones and I still think AGS wants it to ultimately be a great game. But that’s my white knight view, not a non-personal response.
And now, I’ll see myself out.
