The Siren Tuning orb has stopped dropping - at all. Currently the only way to get a siren tuning orb is to craft it. This has been the case since the latest update. At first, I thought it was because the drops for the arena’s orbs had all been removed, but I received a monoecious orb today. I don’t remember anything in the update info that said that the orb would be removed either. I have tried many, many times to get the orb to drop, with no avail, and my friends have mentioned that it’s not dropping for them either. If this is not a bug but an intended change, why remove only the Siren tuning orb and not the others from drops?
I get Siren’s tuning orbs whenever I want to. There is a quest in Reekwater at the Inn. The mechanics have changed a bit after the last patch. You used to go to the front of the Sirens elite run area, then kill a named mob like the Sirens Dog, get the orb, then do the trial.
But now you have to get the orb from a named mob, then go to the front of the elite area, then kill the Siren Queen. There are mobs outside of the elite area that drop orbs and you pretty much have to get it from them. Or find a backdoor way into the elite area, because if you go through the front, it takes away the acquire orb part of the quest.
But I can confirm that I can get Sirens orbs whenever I want to, so they ARE dropping. It is just that the mechanics changed a bunch and you have to follow a certain pattern that is different from what you did before.
Prior to the update, the front of the elite area did not affect the ‘acquire a siren’s tuning orb’ from that quest - which I grab regularly. I’ll try your suggestion, but that would suggest that the update somehow screwed with the quest progression
It changed the quest progression in a way that doesn’t make much sense. I never understood the step to go to Forecastle Drift. Why bother?
