So, about healers

all of you complain about the thing that keeps you alive and cry everytime you die all i have to say is you will all die 10X as quick in opr and war and everything else you will be crying for heals and at this point healers wiil be gone and wont care.

if your wiill to give up your heavy meele ar same with every other class and re roll then fine since there ruining millions of dollars of sets for crap players to feel good about themselfs instead of learning a healer killer build which can rip them apart

You don’t get it that no other class needs a “killer build” and that means there’s a balance problem somewhere with that class, do you?

Why not just run 2 DPS instead of a healer? His job is to kill their healer and then you win with no problem two DPS? New world healing is a joke!

Personally, I thought the wheel of time books had the best take on healers. Can’t heal yourself.

Wish MMOs would use that concept.

It’s so insane because if you replaced -Life Staff- with any other weapon and then told everyone you need a very specific build to deal with that one weapon or else you won’t win, people would lose their fucking minds. People have just been conditioned into Trinity Logic for so long that they can’t think in a way that makes sense for an action oriented combat game.

100% I think people who complain have never had to play a healer in war or period for that matter. It is straight up the hardest class to play as is, so lets just make it harder shall we.

Imagine having a weapon that could not win in 1v1. You have to give up all levels of agency in a fight and have someone win by proxy. If that person isn’t any good, you lose.

Your only input is to keep specific people alive. If they suck, you lose. Immortality they may cry. Your existence is nothing more and nothing less than a healing bot. People come to challenge you to a fight to the death. You can’t grant them the death they yearn for. “Sleep, son”, everyone else says. While walking over their dead bodies. Everybody except for you. You run in circles. To stay in range to heal others.

So you scurry away. They chase. You respond with “Get off me!” You can fight them, but never win in a decisive victory. No checkmate to be had. They potion up from half to full. Nobody is coming to help you. You have unlocked the perpetual tiger chasing the disarmed mouse mini-game.

Everyone asks, “Where is the healing?” Nobody asks “How is the healer doing?”

I know it’ll come as a surprise to most healers but…

You can equip TWO weapons and you don’t need to put all your points into Focus to be a meaningful healer.

Damn I wish DPS players would run 200 stat points less in their build to heal themselves.

Why don’t DPS bring their own life staff? Because it doesn’t work.

Please. If whatever you are suggesting worked, then people would be running it. Plain and simple.

Yes, I understand that changing builds is costly. Don’t ask others to do what you wouldn’t invest heavily into doing.

Surely, at this stage of the game all the theory crafted builds have been tried and tested. The best ones are the ones you see in the META (Most Effective Tactics Available) builds.

It’s not even an off-meta build. It is straight up troll and unviable.

Let me be antagonistic here: Why don’t you run it and prove that a DPS healer build works? Post a YT video demonstrating a new hidden-technology build.

Single-Target healers that are getting gutted this patch would surely watch in awe and swap immediately. Much like SnS + BB builds popped up overnight.

Why would people use tactics when they can just full dump onto life staff and let that carry them on its own?

It’s such a trash weapon designed to accommodate trash players.

What other weapon can auto-target? None, but they had to add it because the trashy MMO kids can’t aim.

Why is healing staff getting more nerfs? Because it’s mathematically broken. It’s broken because it had to be to accommodate bad players.

If people can miss you with attacks but your heals can be targeted with keybindings (including self-targeting), then you innately already have an advantage, and if your heals can fully negate enemy damage then you actually have to be a bad player to lose. It doesn’t matter how good the opponent is, they should never be able to kill you if you’re even remotely competent.

It’s such a garbage design and anyone who has played any sort of game competitively can immediately see why.

Bro, remove the potion clutch then. Play OPR and War without HP + Regen Potions. No Hearty Meals.

Healing has to exist, especially for melee players to succeed. Healers have to be able to heal from close range.

Healers are really good at stalling the fight to allow a winning play [You hear it all the time: “HUGEEE GRAVITY WELL”, “IT’S HUGEEE”] to be made.

If healing doesn’t exist, melee does not exist. Ranged will reign supreme. As can be seen in any OPR match without enough healers and ten enemy muskets behind every blade of grass on the enemy team.

They aren’t targeting the math. If they were, nobody would be upset and possibly quitting over number changes. The core gameplay loop behind one of the healing methods is going down the tubes. People are not happy about it because it isn’t a healing value change.

Give me one example please? Only one I can think of that will still give meaningful healing is a VG which also scales with focus. Between how much con you have to run in light? And needing at least 250 focus to do even slightly meaningful healing I would love to see your ideas. Always down to try off builds for fun.

The game is developed on a huge bed of spaghetti code. A modified game engine called Lumberyard. Lumberyard originates as a modified Cryengine of 2002 or 2015, not entirely sure.

Rubber banding that keeps coming back after being fixed is enough proof. Launch duplication bugs popping up all over the price is another indication. Rolling mechanic randomly causing players to teleport 50 meters ahead.

Unless a developer wants to chime about the software stack. Doubt they would talk negatively, as that would constitute tangible damage to the Amazon Game Studio brand/firm.

All of the research I could find on Lumberyard indicates that the foundation of the game [The game engine] isn’t conducive to building a flagship AAA title.

This includes technology demonstrations (marketing materials, essentially) on Youtube showcasing the prowess of the engine. Trying to sell software product licenses for other people’s game development projects.

Honestly the healers in the EU must have really broke you all. It’s only you who complain about healing, kind of wild. Heavy healers really stuck around there didn’t they.

Why not? There should be skill gap for healers to. And they are right they need good escape/avoid tools they can use. Right now there is single weapon for focus that has only healing skills to they are op since its only way healer can surive. Heals should be weaker (at least in pvp) but some escape/movment tools is needed for healers. Something similar to rapier but that does scale with focus so they can do some dmg (just not like dps, but some).
