So, about Raids

Good to see you. Probably accurate

Well they have to work around some engine constrains, so don’t get your hopes too high. An instanced thing would be most likely, probably 50-60 people? I still have flashes of Nam on the GC quest area when the PvP track came out and the server had less than 600 active players, so probably not even 150 were pvping on that zone.

I haven’t played a war in a while, so not sure if they are even instanced right now as was announced, so I have no valid feedback on how things are going when you get 100 players spamming skills on the same general area, so I hope everything is smooth.

It’s like y’all don’t know or have never played an MMO before. Lmao

Just think about the dungeon finder. What we expected versus what we got.

Now apply the same to the raid. What we expect is not going to be in line with what we get.

You are probably right it will be an arena like the siren arena. Except it will probably have a weekly lockout or some kind of timegate behind. Maybe even an orb needed to open the raid which will require some terrible grind to craft, which will turn-off atleast half the playerbase from even participating in it.

And ofcourse since new world crafted gear can roll all the perks and stats in the game, the raid MIGHT have bis items but you can still just buy gear equally as good from the marketplace. Although let’s be honest, the attributes and perks on items in new world are randomly generated and not actually manually selected by human beings. So the majority of the drops in the raid will probably be dogwater like a lifestaff with keenly jagged and vicious and some heavy armor with intelligence. etc.

Then after 5-6 months worth of feedback and backlash they will consider tweaking it to be actually rewarding and fun to complete.

I think it will be similar to the current open world Bo’s mechanics from Halloween and Christmas but on a grander scale. And obviously limited to 20-25 players.

The most on point statement inthe forums. AGS DO BETTER.

It is one single boss. In a giant arena

to get in, you must simply just wait 1 week in line XD

There is no way they don’t instance it. It would be insane

Omg you’re right… They might not even instance it.

It’s probably going to be a boss that spawns once per day or once per week. then 500 people zerging it down. 80% of the people not getting credit for the kill and missing out on the loot.

Oh boyy… that is actually extremely likely. Ohhh boyyyy. It all makes sense now. Why are they trying to introduce raid groups at the same time as releasing the raid? Wars already have “raid groups” right? Instanced content that auto-forms a sort of raid group.

The only reason why raid groups are on their to-do list is because the sandworm raid is OPEN WORLD. Ooooooof.

Ok No. raid groups are 20man groups. It’s in an arena [we have seen the outside of the arena and we know where it is] thanks to datamined Teleport locations. It was an Arena like Sirens. Or Spirggan. But surely will be instanced.

Okay thank god. That is what I was assuming as well to begin with but… you know AGS are liable to do anything.

But okay, a simple little boss arena is still a smidge better than an open world zerg.

I actually saw the sandworm in the wild last night for the first time since the opening scene.

Looks kinda cool and scary. I think there will be a mechanic where it goes under ground and then comes up and Insta eats someone.

And by “difficult” they prob. mean we have to grind yet another set of gear to kill this worm.

oh boy, lookin for beast ward gear now.

Every PvE content is. Always and everywhere.
That is why every long time gamer evolves into a PvP gamer some day.
Apart from the ones that do not really want to get involved and/or dont want to have a challenge.

They will introduce a special mechanic.
Everytime you start the raid, the sandworm will deal another type of damage.
We’ll get another 10 new ward perks to use against it.
Sounds like fun, doesn’t it :stuck_out_tongue:

ESO has quite engaging PvE for MMO standards, but yeah still playing vs AI and vs players is miles apart.

Yeah, sadly seems like it. I just hope AGS realizes this won’t be enough imho.
