I’m not sold that the “guaranteed 600 GS” patterns will cut it.
The shards that will allow us to control stats is hopeful, so I’m hoping these materials lean accessible in order to give crafters an edge over the game systems that generate gear for players (dungeons, drops, chests, etc…)
I’m glad that AGS communicated the scaling change this far in advance. This tells me they know this will be a controversial change and hope they intend on listening to feedback before following through with it.
Personally, I do not mind the scaling capability itself - however, I hope they consider the impact on the PVP community. Are players that engage in PVP going to be stuck in a gearscore grind loop in order to be competitive? Whether or not gearscore makes much of an impact on PVP engagements, the community will still likely create their own forms of gating behind specific gearscore thresholds.
This is accurate for sure. But the game rules are changing significantly and those rule changes completely change the way in which players engage with the end-game. I think it is fair to be mindful of that.
I haven’t even hit max yet - but I thought the asks to reset everyone’s HWM was ridiculous given the amount of time players invested in it currently. I think it is only fair for AGS to more critically evaluate the impact on folks that invested their experience in crafting routes to get 600 gs items.
These players did not break any rules by pursuing those routes and their investment should be more thoroughly considered.
It is an absolutely silly thing to suggest and I think it was done as a kneejerk reaction. A good compromise would have been something like this for example:
You have watermark 500 and you have 600 score gear.
Lower gear effectiveness to 500
Add 1 point for each weapon skill for example. Of course this is not applicable for armor because there is no analogue of the weapon skill for armor but you get the general idea. Of course cap all at the gear level of the equipment as in it should not provide a boost above the normal value.
If you exploited chest drops early = you win… Going forward WM will be harder, crafted gear will be worth less than it is now, until you grind out WM all the way up. Which will take significantly longer now…
If you wasted time crafting = you lose. Items will not sell in TP, what good is a God roll 20k 600gs item, when your WM is only 520?
Ah ok. So there is only one way to play the game, and that’s the way you play it. I’m supposed to kick my wife, kids and job to the curb and mindlessly grind elite mobs until the little number on the screen equals 600. Not every end-game activity contributes to gs. Pvp, crafting, gathering, OPR, Invasions, questing and wars do nothing for gs. It’s literally elite chest runs, two expeditions that are a bitch to get in to, and grinding 60+ mobs, that. is. it.
Since this is the interwebs, I literally can not speak any slower for your empty skull to understand.
Go run that circle again killing those same mobs you’ve killed 500 times noob.
I wish they reset WM to 500. This way we would all be in the same boat. My hundreds of hours of gathering and crafting to get gs590 are now erased, while people who grinded PVE are gonna one shot me in world PVP and OPR
Yes. Because you decided to not grind PVE others should get all their progress in said content reset. You all act like you going to be lvl 10 after the patch hits.
Let me show you the door, casual. I would ask for your stuff but its not worth the time salvaging it.
Seriously every MMO almost every online game needs to be balanced around the people who have most time/ are the best because they will just stomp casuals anyways. Also you defeated your own argument: Next patch all these things will progress WM. Also stop assuming everyone that can play 8h a day doesn’t have a job or a life. There are alot of people working half your time and earn double. Also sleep less etc.
I decided not to wait, message was really clear from AGS to crafters what they think about us
But I will not jump on the toxic bandwagon that seems to be standard here, I hope the players that remain really get a better and more rewarding experience.
No, that “force” is not related to the changes coming in December patch. The reason why these changes need to be made is because within the next 1-2 months (before the change is every made) the market will be absolutely flooded with BiS gear, defeating the entire point of the game. This is exactly why Diablo removed the auction house.
I mean… they literally just posted that not only will all gear that is grinded pre-patch won’t count for this and that any item personally crafted is exempt from it. Also Faction/Quest gear won’t be affected.
This reminds me of how so many people quit the game due to server queues then 3 days later most servers never saw one again. People have almost 0 patience.
And without post like this thread you think you’d have your faction and quest gear?
There become a point when even the most dense companies have to listen to their customers. That was them compromising.
Any gear you aquire right now before the patch. Crafted and traded will remain just as powerful. AFTER the patch. if your WM is lower you will need to grind your WM higher in order to get better stats etc.
Crafted weapons / armor will still be 600 if YOU make the 600 craft. If YOU are able to get 200 wep / arm whatever skill and craft it it WILL be strong regardless of your WM
