So flourish gets its stagger back but the hardest spell in the game (ice spike) will not have that stagger back?

Any reason why no one is talking about ice spike stagger removal despite 0.5% of the players using it? I mean that’s probably why no one is talking about it cause only 0.5% of the players use it lol.

Why did they revert flourish and finish stagger with a much bigger hit box but kept the removal of ice spike stagger? It was solely used as a niche spell for maybe the only good players left in this game lmfao. Think it’s silly how such a hard hit box to land is getting another nerf cause AGS think people would suddenly mass ice spike bruisers without grit that never happened anyways.

Did you even log into PTR? Fun fact: the ice spike stagger is still there LOL. Devs didn’t even remove it despite saying they did. Their intention is to separate damage and cc abilities and ice spike is inherently built to do damage, there are other cc abilities within the IG kit if that’s what you want.

Can I see any proof? I don’t play PTR cause it’s always 50+ gb lol.

major dex bias tbh, flourish is not a cc move, it gurantees followup on itself, the same way that skyward gurantees followup on itself. :person_shrugging:. Devs definetly don’t understand the difference between cc and damaging abilities. Lumping all staggers in the cc category is not the way they should of went about balancing. it is lazy and misguided.

I don’t have a clip but I tested with several abilities including ice spiking a bow using rapid shot and it staggers and cancels the abilities. So you can definitely still cancel heals etc.

Flourish is a cc ability, its used to cancel abilities and restrict movement. The problem with it before was it having 2 staggers; I completely agree on removing the secondary one. There’s no bias here on that. Skyward does not guarantee a followup, not sure where you’re getting that from. You can iframe the follow up or just cancel the ability with your own stagger. You’re saying the devs don’t understand between cc/damage abilities but this whole patch is them trying to fix those mistakes in the first place lol. I think you’re missing the point entirely because of the inherent flaws on the live client.

no. damage and cc or damage and stagger combined isn’t the issue. The issue is abiltiies that cc or do massive damage with 0 animation that is the root problem with several things in the game. Musket (everything) BB(shrap blast) Rapier(flourish) SnS(leaping strike shieldbash) GS(skyward,steadfast) GA(Reap) IG(Ice spike)

Mighty spike should cause knockdown

Ice spike stagger can be led into any ability auto along with or without weapon swap.
If you’re in ptr, try spike into pillar its a guaranteed hit if you have good ping.
And its not the hardest ability to land for stagger, its prolly the hardest ability to time for max damage combo aside from javelin. But as long as the stagger aspect is there, you take guaranteed damage from anything coming after.
Also Flourish can be blocked by any weapon, Icespike can’t be blocked without shield.

P.S. Stagger form spike isn’t removed.

i believe that Reverse Stab is even harder to land than Ice Spike
