AGS’s choice of actions and overall inaction has nurtured a culture of cheaters and exploiters for literally weeks now.
They claim to be banning bots but without providing proof of bans of any kind – and with reports of cheaters and exploiters and bots daily on the forums – basically players have no faith they are doing anything at all.
Even prioritizing server Transfers is completely misguided – why would anyone want to burn their server transfer going to a world that ends up being populated by cheaters and exploiters and bots?
There is no point for legitimate players to log in and play and I recommend legitimate players to just stop playing. No shortage of other games – free to play even – that have better fundamental features (e.g., character customization) and better management (e.g., weekly ban lists, regular dev discussion on hot topics of player feedback).
I gave NW a Thumbs Down on Steam and I urge everyone to do the same until AGS takes tangible, just action.
Don’t let others buy the game and discover this rampant cheating only after it is too late to get a refund.
havent logged in to do anything more than fishing since the last patch. I want to play OR but to everyones surprise its broken as is 75% of all other features ingame.
Left Warzone due to hackers/cheaters … looks like it’ll be the same thing here.
Dont feel like wasting more time ingame, I enjoy the forums more.
I do expect then to do something short term when there is game breaking exploits that are being abused left and right without any conserves.
I’m no Game dev but would it be impossible to disable that hatchet passive to they get it fixed? One example.
Getting 1-2 shotted by a hatchet player over and over is getting old really fast in pvp. I have never had a worse pvp experience then i had in my first outpost rush. and i never going to do it again at this state of the game.
Or i can do like other mates, join and put on a movie and be afk for money and loot.
Not sure how things run around here but from my experience I can only guess it’s like this:
A bug is being reported. If it’s an actual bug report with proof and not just a rant, it gets picked up by moderators and compiled on a list with other bugs. This list gets to someone in power to aprove what gets fixed in a week and what gets fixed 2 weeks later, what bugs need a hotfix in 24h and so on
Then, after a bug has been aproved for fixing, it gets passed on to an senior architect or lead designer who can establish the time it takes to fix it based on it’s complexity and how to fix it.
If the list of bugs has dupe exploits, server instability, transfer errors on it, there is a chance that the hatchet passive will get post poned.
I personally avoid fort rush until issues are fixed with the hatchet, resilient perk and the afk players. I want to enjoy a good PvP. Playing Outpost Rush now will only give me a negative experience of the whole thing and burn me out. However, I did play only 2 matches, found the issues and saw on the forums that other users already reported them. I’m focusing more on leveling my armoring skill and finishing my side quests until they fix it.
I wish I could still refund my game. I like New World in its essence and all, but the game is so riddled with bugs and exploits that it outright kills my enjoyment of it.
I seriously believe that AGS should just offer refunds and try and relaunch the game. It’s more than clear that it just wasn’t ready for launch and needs a good extra 6 months of serious work at least.
There are specific perks on gear, like Resilience that should just be disabled until they have a fix. The hatchet buff stacking that is making OPR almost unplayable is another armor perk. Fortify stacking that’s not intended, for lifestaff, again another armor perk.
With this newest patch also introducing perma bloodlust and other items that weren’t even part of the intended fixes.
AGS has continued to just allow abuse of exploits and bugs, with only gold dupe being addressed as ban-able.
I hate to agree with people, but core features of the game simply don’t work properly which is indicative of an Alpha.
What’s annoying is some have stretched back since alpha.
It’s not a timeline or expectation, but as others have said, an issue of inaction, to stop or discourage exploiting.
Again, why am I AVOIDING the best gold option for end game, why do I have to compete with bots or limited resources on extremely rare drop rates?
I don’t mind “fighting” the game to an extent, but when its 80%+ of what I’m doing, that’s when its pretty unacceptable.
Cause they were instructed to play on a placeholder server when every original one was full. “play solo for now, then transfer with your friends later”. Thats exactly the plan of many people.
We expect from the game which have been 2 years in beta phase to be better at the start.
We are not beta testers any more. so stop defending them so much.
Also remember, that they are a big big company, not a small studio with 2 people. So yea, we expect more.
I have a suspicion. Last time I saw a game so filled with bugs, was Runes Of Magic, acquired by Lameforge, I sense they might have something to do with all this. I also not playing so often as I wanted to, when I log in, I spend like 20 minutes blocking the 128787 gold sellers every single day, I’m not even near endgame content, decided not to rush and take a slow pace until the major issues are fixed.
sadly i’m feeling pretty much the same… i’ve been playing NMS, which was my filler while waiting between the betas and launch, because i’m so frustrated with the state of the game. it has a lot of potential, the core is there, but… every day it’s another broken bit or exploit, plus i’m pissed about the female characters. asking for a refund would be silly, but, just not logging in is a more appealing option daily.
if you think that 5 bug fixed that can be made in a few hours will fix duping gold, balance issues and pretty much dead factionso n dominated servers then good luck with 10k ppl in a few months
