The “CAN” in this instance is not a should they or should they not be engaged. By flagging and going red they are saying I am okay with being engaged in combat with another player.
The “CAN” is can I survive and win the fight, or wont I and lose the fight.
I do know where the line is, its actually a button, by default the U button I believe. By hitting it you have crossed that line and said "I am ready to fight whomever whenever.
If you do not see that as the line, then it is you who is the problem trying to push an ideal from real life into a video game.
Agreed, you should have the option to engage. you can take that option by again, pressing the U button and engaging PvP mode. Additionally they would not be killed over and over if they just left.
Do you know how many times while leveling I would get killed by a level 60, went back, saw he was still there and just decided to go level somewhere else. It is not that hard at all in this game. Even easier now with most of the server filled with 60’s.
The one extreme is “Red is Dead” meaning if I see you on the road, if I see you fighting a MOB, if I see you I am going to come for you and kill you over and over and over until you log out. The other extreme is what you are asking for in this I was here first mentality.
The middle ground is what I proposed. Unless you have other middle ground suggestions.
Depends completely on your definition of toxic behavior. Considering you think repeatedly killing someone in in a pvp environment is a bannable “offense”, I am interested to hear an example of what toxic behavior this promotes.

no turning off pvp does not fix the problem, thats just a lazy way to cover for a lack of morals and respect for others. again pvp flagging doesn’t mean consent to being harassed or bullied.

This does fix the problem, the exact problem. If you are not flagged, you cant be killed. So you cant be bullied or harassed.
Agreed, that is me, I am trying to not be harassed or bullied by having my time wasted on someone coming over and over to an area I have already won out for.
The extremely small percentage of people that take it to these extremes I honestly feel were just looking for a trigger. Gaming had nothing to do with it, they were sad due to way more other issues in life than just a video game.

PVP flagging is obviously not a consent to being harassed or bullied, you agree to engage in player to player combat thus should expect to die. If I camp bot lane in LoL does that mean I am harassing and bullying them? No.

and yes the game matter, fps almost always have a goal of killing other players or other team no matter what, in a open world mmo you get to pick if you have to or not pick on a lesser player
You dont have to repeat yourself, I am very familiar with your personal opinion already. As someone pointed out earlier, you are more likely to get banned yourself for false reports, and you are too ignorant to realize this.
I agree killing someone repeatedly is a waste of time, but it for sure is not bannable and for good reason. You should try and play ark, I challenge you to last more than a day.
If you dont want to risk dying while farming, then unflag. Literally just press U and you cannot get killed by another player. This doesnt punish you in any way. However, running flagged rewards you for engaging in pvp, but again, at a higher risk. If you are incabable of fighting back and lack pvp skill required to beat other players, which clearly is the case, you are wasting more time running flagged for the bonus luck, opposed to not doing so and staying alive.
On yet another post I’m going to tell you that no. Killing someone repeatedly is not harassment nor bullying. Even if they say “please stop”.
The only caveat to this is if someone is actively hunting you down just to hinder whatever you’re trying to do(unless that thing happens to be pvp missions) and even then it’s debatable because at any point you can stop it with the press of a single key.
I’m sure that the guy who reported me several times for harrassment (farming “his hemp” even after he asked me to please stop) would agree with you. Anyway no ban received gg.
Are we still talking in a pvp context? Because I can agree repeatedly harassing someone verbally in dms is definetly a bannable offense. But once you signed up to the game you expect people to act according to the rules, and killing someone in pvp is completely fine, that is literally the definition of it if you didnt realize yet. The pvp itself has nothing to do with harassment. If you dont want in the game, sign out (unflag).
