So July patch is going to buff the shit out PvE drops. Crafting will be even more worthless

300 STR + 200 CON
300 INT + 200 CON
300 FOC + 200 CON builds are unaffected.

Buffs only apply to 510 stat points (plus +40 food) split across

300 STR / 100+ DEX / 100 CON
300 INT / 100+ FOC / 100 CON
300 FOC / 100+ INT / 100 CON builds

300+ DEX / 200+ INT / 5 CON musket builds.

I’m going to assume that when they talked about changing loot tables and making certain perks have a much lower chance to roll, this would apply to crafting as well. And since this is going to provide many more options for how you gear, i think crafting overall is going to increase. The downside are 2 perk ok items will drop in price. But there will always be a META, there is in every game. And if you roll that, you will still be rich.

Getting proper 2-perk build loadouts should be much easier to obtain with less overall required material cost.

That means AGS can start balancing weapons and reworking things. Since itemization for builds is less rigid and less hair pulling to come by.

Split stats are a problem if you change weapons fairly regularly, that’s it.

I don’t understand the fuss.

If it means that the Infamy’s and Lazarus Bow’s of the world all of a sudden have fewer Attribute points than other weapons, I support that.

One of the dumbest things in this game has always been that the best PVP gear comes from hardcoring PVE dungeons. If you don’t do that, you don’t get BiS weapons.

That needs to change, and any step in that direction is a good one.

DEX + INT is ‘buffed’ on paper, but unobtanium due to the lack of craftable dungeon replicas for that specific split stat line.

You would have to random roll DEX + INT and lose your guaranteed first perk, in which case no resilient + random weapon perk is possible.

600 Gear Score will have a decent shot at having 3 relevant perks. Best in Slot is still going to be difficult to get though.

Depending on what perks got buffed where, there may be multiple best in slots now. Maybe Vigor will heavily mitigate burn damage from Flame Thrower + Crippling Powder Burn? Who knows.

Maybe Invigorated will reduce Rend from a 10 second kill window down to 6 seconds? Again, gonna have to see patch notes.

I am guessing they are adding hybrid mods to timeless shards.

Lets not jump the shark here. We dont even know how many extra points they are going to have. I think their intent is that if you get a strength/foc armor with really good str perks you can still use it. Might be overall a few attribute points lower than if it was all strength but at least, maybe, it isnt immediate junk.

But for sure we will need to see how this plays out for split stat weapons. I mean i kind of like it given my favourite loadout is spear/hatchet. Str/dex all day so I wont complain if its op.

It will be less urgent to dedicate resources to insure a single, primary stat, though.

That means it will be easier to craft desired perks and random stats to get what you want, than it currently is trying to get your desired attribute and random perk rolls.

Crafting is still shit in this game, don’t get me wrong. AGS hates crafting, apparently, as a legitimate avenue to gear progression.

He kept saying how they would roll more combat and weapons perks, so I took it to mean he was talking crafting. Right After that discussion, he then specifically went into increased quality of loot drops. So the previous discussion I took was more focused on general perks and included crafting. Could be wrong but not sure…

Figured as much.

DEX + FOC is going to be a meme. The day I can equip a FOC + DEX musket I will do that meme build and sit in my sacred and counter snipe with empowered shooter stance. Get my revenge against those 300 DEX / 200 INT / 5 CON 6k HP glass cannon muskets.

The math doesn’t pan out with FOC scaling gems not doing a damn thing.

STR + FOC might be a meme still. Might not be, given how well STR weps scale up to 300 points.

I’m not sure why there are any gear drops, tbh. They should have just had mobs drop resources to craft… Maybe some rares of certain bosses. But why did that wolf just drop a rapier?

OH GOD. WHERE WAS THAT RAPIER? :open_mouth:

He said in the vid you would still get most points from a single stat piece … so… lets see where it goes when the patch notes come out.

I.e. I bet there is going to be an overall cap that wont let you run these dual stat builds at more than current max.

I’ve spend the better part of my game time getting all my crafting/refining to 200, getting all the major trophies and gear needed. I just need to know…will this new update make it even worse to be a crafter?

I love the game, and support the devs…but that would be the last straw for me.

Should be easier. Until new perks are added again or reworked entirely.

yeah. there really hasn’t been a point in crafting for a long time now. I figure this would not come as a surprise anymore. the devs just focus on pvp concepts even when they are trying to fix pve components. they need to not listen to the pvp screamers.

Hopefully the perk buckets for crafting are getting changed like they are for PvE drops. That could help crafting but still 99/100 items you craft are worth nothing because there is an overpowered PvE drop that competes.

If they just let us force craft 600gs with attribute+2perks then they can have all the powercreep they want in PvE drops.

i mean in a way that still kinda hurts crafting too ?

if you make something easier to get in a MMO then some1 will just mass craft those guaranteed 2 perks with attribute and hit like 10 BIS pieces out of say 100 rolls on the 3rd perk and just sell ? Tanks the market down

I just today tried my luck at crafting 20 pieces of gear after I got disgusted a few months back. Immediately regretted it again and sold off all my remaining cool down materials to get some gold back.

Typical post from this person. Smoke and mirrors. Nothing to see here.

(I’ve tried completely and totally blocking all people who post “My opinion is worth more then yours” pieces in the forums, but apparently, this is not possible.)

They likely don’t want to implement that because shitty RNG crafting helps them keep gambling addicts playing. Crafting in New World is essentially any other game’s lootbox system; you just pay with your time instead of your money. And the more time you spend in game, the more likely you are to spend money in the cash shop.
