So, they did release notes at midnight 20 NOV reference the unacknowledgement, intentional vs unintentional. Even though they may not be as responsive as you would like at least they are trying and we are receiving communication on issues submitted by the community.
Thanks for the link I hadn’t seen this. Glad to see they are looking into this and aware of issues, at least in part.
The unintended effects of their elite buffing seems to have gone a lot further than mentioned in that post but at least it shows they are on it.
Given how major the impact is on the game I think it merits a separate red post about Elites signposting this Dev blog post though ^^
About 20 gold i’d guess. I died once before i knew what i was getting myself into, and took me 2 tries once i did. 420 gear score has its advantages.
Different tastes. For me a quest is boring when the most challenging part is not falling asleep while walking there.
But this particular quest is actually bugged, see my post above. Patch unintentionally increased the mob HP too much in Ebonscale.
It is. I’m light armor spear/bow normally, but i whipped out a shield for this one. Had to fight in an area as big as a napkin to avoid aggro from respawned regular mobs.
That image only show the quest turn in, not how you did it.
So all I’m going to say is: “Cool story, bro !”.
I’ll just leave this GDC talk here for reference for people who don’t understand why there are solo players playing MMO games.

I posted it because it shows im still level 59.
That someone would doubt me when i said i did it solo didn’t even cross my mind.
shrug
Oh well. Some random forum poster does not believe me. I think i’ll live.
Some random forum poster brags about doing something very dubious, and without proof. I think i’ll live.
It is though. 90% of the game is solo content. You can’t even get the same quests without a measure of luck

Oh really.
I’ve just done that exact quest as level 59. It took me 10-15 mins to kill that guy solo.
So… just so Im getting this right you want mobs with 1 million hp and 5k hits and thats your challenge? Well some ppl like putting 1000 piece puzzles together with no photo (just all white) so who am I to judge?
Personally to me thats not challenge thats futility. Different strokes I guess.
95% of the content is soloable except expeditions, PvP rushes/wars, invasions, and these level 60 world quests.

I want mobs that are challenging to fight. Mobs that will kill me unless i properly prepare for the fight, and give it my best (at least the final boss mob of a quest chain, like this one was).
As long as that is met, it does not necessarily need to have a million hitpoints. This one just happened to be that way (bugged, as it turned out).
angry cloud guy,
just flag for PvP and you can slolo it all
Ok I was hoping thats what you meant. Thx for the clarification. I have tested games that did that and I often had to explain how high hp damage mobs are not challenging unless there is some mechanic that will lessen that like a weakness or a vulnerability. Having just high hp and damage is just lazy.
Either you lack intelligence and/or are a troll. The game is a pile of mess.
/rec LFM for “xyz quest”
problem solved. please mark this as the solution
Everyone who is saying this is not a solo game completely missed the OP’s original point in their post. They never mentioned New World not being or being a solo game, they mentioned level 60 quests such as Shivering Timbers being marked as level 60 quest with no group/expedition flags, not being soloable anymore.
As another level 60, this applies for several other quests as well. Patch 1.1 made a lot of the content (I am not talking about group quests, elite quests, expeditions), solo content that is, just too difficult. Mobs just hit way to hard and with the nerf to certain weapons, AGS just needs to revert some stuff, not all, but the buffed strength of mobs in general was just too much.
A challenge is good, but there is a fine line between a challenge and just something not fun because it becomes too cumbersome. Also, add the repair costs in and a lot of folks are slowly running out of repair parts if they have not already.
