Thanks for video, good to know this things!
This perk stacks with nimble. I tested it on a frame by frame video.
Nimble really does save you when you’re dodging and using proper stamina management.
Playing a light spear Hatchet fighting in the Zerg ball, every stamina helps, you only need 1 stamina to avoid all damage. In the video you’ll have 4 stamina more than your opponent which is plentiful
Really comes down to your build and if it’ll be impactful to your play style.
If your build heavily relies on stamina management then I guess its worth it, but is it BIS? I dont think so.
According to this thread, it does nothing and helps a lot.
ye kinda strange. u can clearly see the 0.05 sec difference in the video.
and i bet nobody has that quick reaction time, like that wouldnt even be possbile at all.
still some believe it’s worth ![]()
While the average FPS player has a reaction time between 300-500 milliseconds, professional FPS players clock reaction times between 100-250 milliseconds
I mean, I’m not gonna pretend like I know a lot about NW PVP but there are people absolutely dying on the hill that it’s a boss perk so I guess we have some of the uppermost percentile of reaction times or something.
The one and only time i can say nimble proved it self (not enough to change my mind)
Was being chased by an assassin in open world pvp.
From the warcamp to the settlement.
Both light, both hearty, both managing dodges to escape/catchup but after a 2min chase I started to increase the gap enough for him to stop and give up the chase.
It took that long before it became noticeable…
I am a min-maxer myself but there are better options for that earrings slot at it current value.
i believe they will buff it
I have a suspicion they will too. Like compensation for the nerf to refreshing evasion.
On the other hand, dodging in general is really powerful in nw. Literally invincible. Do i also feel like they’ll either overdo it or undo RE in a different way.
Why would them nerfing Refreshing Evasion, give you hope that they will buff nimble? Refreshing Evasion has always been weaker than Refreshing (even before the nerf), and it was still nerfed. Buffs/Nerfs don’t follow logic.
They absolutely dumpstered Sturdy Energy with the July Update and that had a decent bit of conditionality… expect Stamina Recovery to get hit soon lol (hope not though).
New World, as a game, does not have server performance reliable enough for frame-perfect input to matter. 0.05s is about 1.7 frames of animation.
Aah i have seen videos showing refreshing evasion pre patch simply out performing refreshing on long cooldowns specifically.
If you had full RE on 9 alots you shave off around 2s per dodge. (Not calculated, but looking at the CD box)
For shorter CDs refreshing better.
Now you have to dodge around 4 times to get the same value as refreshing, and with stamina nerfs it has made refreshing the premiere CDR.
I guess im just speculating.
But in order for RE to be as good, stamina supply/use would need to be stronger so thats my theory on how nimble indirectly affects RE.
This is the mistake that people always make when evaluating Refreshing vs Refreshing Evasion.
It is not 3% vs 4 dodges… that would only be true if Refreshing applied to one weapon, but does not. Refreshing applied to both weapons so it is actually effectively 6%, which would take 8 dodges to achieve the same benefit (even with old RE it was 6 dodges, and thats it why Refreshing was always more efficient).
That is what you call PvP? Running from a 1v1 for 2 minutes?
I’d rather die trying to kill him and then respawn.
what are BIS items? can someone tell me?
Im not disagreeing because like i said I haven’t calculated it yet, but i’ve seen war vods of an AOE healer pre patch achieving crazy CDR and having CDs available before everyone else.
I assume refreshing move LS is also included but Thats why RE has been the premiere CDR for a while.
I dont have access to that discord to double check the video but i do remember being amazed at how abilities became available to quickly.
I personally run 6 refreshing, 3 RE
Thats not what i call pvp at all lol
I was running a pvp quest for territory push and handing in the quest was more important than fighting.
Its the single most boring end game activity and i didnt want to pro long it by fighting.
Personal preference, but if you asked me
Refreshing toast, healthy toast, refreshing
The TLDR is No.
You’re better off running 250 Strength for the 25%/50% stamina regen bonuses.
You’re better off sitting in Sacred Ground with 50% stamina regen bonuses.
If you’re running 250 strength and in Sacred Ground, your stamina regen is capped, and Nimble is wasted.
If you’re not running 250 Strength, and you’re not a Tank, or you’re not in a Sacred Ground, Nimble can be helpful.
If you’re not running 250 Strength and you’re a Tank, you can run Sturdy Energy, instead, which gets you close to the stamina regen cap.
Nimble is helpful if you’re not in Sacred Ground, but its benefit is diminishing unless stacked with other stamina regen methods.
