People are used to common practice of other Gamestudios. There you get Patchnotes 1 Week to 3 Days before a patch. And I think thats the proper way to do it. Releasing Patch notes while already patching the servers + Downtime on Forums is stupid.
That way people cant even read them while downtime (unless small tweets and stuff like that, but who the heck uses Twitter…)

And these replies that are completely hypocritical by you not skipping ahead and getting way overly defensive prove that you spend entirely too much time online and need a break from 12 hours a day staring at a screen. You people are actually posting demanding communication from devs while the same time shitting all over them. Why the fuck would they even give you the time of day with the way this forum treats them. Like you’re entitled to anything.

If they improved their QA standards (or are in a process to do so) the delay is something that can happen. QA needs an absolute power to green light a release and should be able to stop the line as long as there are game braking bugs (that includes economy breaking) discovered or unpatched.

What do you mean? They have said multiple times that Dec 14th is the winter even patch start. It’s probably just coming later today.

For all the people defending it here, look how Microsoft handle their patching and update everyone. The moment theres an issue they inform the userbase.
Literally a one line tweet saying it has been delayed until “x” date would be sufficient

They are probably still trying to get it ready for today. They said in multiple dev posts and in the patch notes that 14th was the date of the winter event patch. They must be trying to make it happen and that’s why there has been no news on a delay. Probably trying to make sure it gets done for a night time patch, again.

I have a couple of answers and I am absolutely certain you are simply not smart enough to grasp their meaning. First, its their job. Second, they made the commitment to keep their paying player base informed. There are many other reasons but you won’t comprehend the two already provided. Maybe, just maybe, you will activate the few brain cells you have and try to understand this final point…
October 3rd 2021 New World had a peak of 913,027 and an average daily player count of 410,170 players in game. New World was growing rapidly from its official release date! Fast Forward to December 13th, New World had a 24-hour peak of 106,776 and as of 32 minutes ago, 64,026 players online, globally.
Because Amazon refuses to communicate with their player base, people are giving up and moving on. If Amazon doesnt care, neither does the player base. Unlike you and Amazon, I like this game and would like to see it improve and thrive. But like the 800K players who have abandoned it already, I am also leaning that way.

I just wish they would have a scheduled day/time they do resets so we always know and that they have a daily reset kinda like wow, having to wait til the same time every day basically to farm chests is annoying, should just be within 24hrs of say 8am, then at 8am the next day they reset again. cant always play at the same time and reduces the event type activities i can do.

i feel your frustration but can you share a link or post officially saying update on 14th? apart of winter event? the winter event is probably already in game just needs activate on server side - i might be wrong but i never seen a post or official news about update on 14th

Tbh I can kinda understand the ppl who are like “stop complain, theyre working on it, yada yada yada”.
But lets be real, they have a history of bad communication. And announcing an event for the 14th (where it wasnt even clear from the post if it will be a patch nor not) and knowing it wont actually start on the 14th - why would you stay silent towards your playerbase/customers?! And not inform them at all. I for example thought the event would start today, cause I never heard anything different from them. Great 
I fully agree a “we wont make in in time, we will postpone to day X” would have been enough. Then ppl would actually KNOW. Now is the 14th and we didnt get anything until someone asked for a statement and they then said: “we removed the 14th from the post, so no its not coming on the 14th” - LOL!
I mean… maybe you should just try to enjoy the game instead of trying to take advantage of every patch. Then you wouldn’t really care when the patch came along.

I’ve stuck with this dumpster fire, through thick and thin. Playing 900 hours with a full time job, I think is pretty much every free minute I’ve had since the game launched. This December patch that’s “coming out on the 14th” was my final straw. If this whole patch sucks, I’m out.
So far, for this event, I see 520 weapons and armor that’s only for new players and the gypsum system that MIGHT be good, allowing us to play different types of content each night, though we are still grinding WM, which isn’t fun gameplay, but it’s the gameplay we’ve got.
I know that I’ll play it for a bit, but I’m already 600 everything except for jewelry and shields, so what’s this going to get me? 3-5 days of gypsum grinding then back to square one? I really hope that’s not the case, because I’m unbelievably sick of running elite zones and chest farming.

Wow I love the fact you speak more on the insults than actual content and try to pass it off as intelligent speaking. You go ahead and believe that spending $40 on a game gives you the right to hold them to a standard if you actually invested in the company. I’ll let ya get the last word when you reply since you can’t hold a sentence without trying to boost your ego.
That’s a fair comment, I love this game but it’s fair to say it has issues. We do not need to alienate more players through something as avoidable as lack of communication. In my honest opinion, this issue probably has more to do with the corporate structure of AG and lack of internal communication regarding the update status and schedule, than the willingness of community ambassadors to type the message. This probably will not change until the heads of AG realize how destructive bad comms are, and how it translates to the bottom line.
MMO’s ask players to invest a massive amount of time in their product, trust is a key factor.

The “event” is not that much. A few cool items with too much grind. I rather have them release it much later than to release it half baked and shut down half of EU again
