Fair, but heavy DPS does not do much damage. I’ve run medium and heavy in OPR and there’s a significant difference in damage. A heavy vs a light, yes, it seems unbalanced but that’s normal. A medium will smoke a light user and a heavy will smoke a medium given equal loadsets.
Cheese builds like BB can change these general rules of thumb, along with healers widening or narrowing gaps but the precedent still applies.
The higher scale combat in terms of numbers gets a bit derailed and revolve around healers and other factors.
Only specialized DPS made or perked for killing a tank should kill a tank.
Tanks can’t and shouldn’t outdps healers. That’s the biggest flaw.
If heals or a counter to heals was balanced on a reasonable level rather than allowing them to be healing someone to full life every 3 seconds from 1% then tanks would need a damage Nerf.

There’s already not much room for heavies in most of the game and is hindered even further by the power of healing and potions combined making mediums our tanks AND DPS at the same time and making tanks shitty DPS and nothing more that can 1v1 most lights.
How does this sound normal to you? The point of going light is for more dps. The point of going heavy is for more mitigation. The point of going medium is to be a little equal.
Also heavies throw GW on a group of heavies and wipe them out in seconds all the time. This game just is not balanced properly. It starts with a single weapon that can do it all. It continues with a gear set and stat point allocation that allows max mitigation, high hit points, and still massive AoE damage.
This should not happen. I know you don’t agree with that and I am not going to argue back and forth with you but giving one class everything with no downsides is the cardinal sin in MMO balancing.
Just buy a cheap 595 light armor with the perk for each Dungeon and you will be OK, I spent close to 5k to build mine, of course you will have to grind a little bit to get this to 625, but you will see how easy it is to stay alive with light amor and a crapload of damage reduction.
Healers were super op on release day. It was most op weapon in game. Thats the reason behind nerfs. First time i played opr - like 5-6 weeks after release? I saw this heavy healers tanking with face 4-5 dudes and dont care. And was called an idiot when i came to the forum as write my opinion about this. Game design where 1 player can face tank 4-5 others is just broken. Man: even if 1 healer can face tank 1 dps and dont care - like he does not have to activly avoid dmg - is still broken.
Point is there should be a split for balancing each, zero build diversity because your crying pvp is unbalanced bakes zero sense. Go back to fortnight they even stopped building I understand so you can feel good.
They are buffing healing in light and nerfing single target LE. Most of us healers heal in light full ward 100 con. I do that in M10 dynasty and M10 tempest. It’s quite easy to be honest. Dps guys need to pay more attention now with that slow DE cast time. LE is history in pve now. There shouldn’t be heavy armor healers at all! Medium 150 con ward gear actually was allowing us to dps a lot as healers with VG blade because there was plenty healing but that will go away as well with next update. With 150 con light armor and full ward you just gonna survive all the random hits anyway
that was the idea of the game when it came out, now it’s the latest with all the changes that happened, clearly this was changing, but it will continue to be a game with a pvp focus until the developers say otherwise, in fact, the game at first would be pvp every time, which would have saved us several problems, including bots.
Funny you say that because devs have said both modes are equally important to them…

Healing. Really just healing from this patch. A lot of the healers will not be able to heal PvE anymore. And your skilled PvP healers who are capable of healing your m10 in light would rather just PvP, until they realize group healing in wars is also dead. They will leave as well. Then you’ll have a player base who is complaining they can’t find healers for anything, and if you don’t have a healer good luck with Muts. How a PvP (3v3 specifically) impacts PvE
PVP ain’t a “fraction.” PVP is all we have at level 60. How many times you trynna run the same predictable dungeon? If not for PVP I would’ve left a long, long time ago. And the PVP ain’t even that fun anymore, but we’ll see how the next update goes.
