  • VG puetryfying scream range is so low, that it needs to be launched inside enemies a*s. Tell me you are unable to doge that…

theres already over 50% of the ppl running around with VG in OPR, even combinations which shouldnt make any sense (WH/VG, Musket/VG).

But some people are still arguing the weapon is fine… jesus

So what? They are wining? What is diference if you loose with VG or GA? Those ppl are just not very inteligent, they probably didnt discovered there are new healing reduction perks on weapons that work with WH crit/strong attack same way as Puetryfying scream.

You’re complaining about vg when you have a rapier…and a ranged weapon. Interesting. If ur getting hit by scream ur doing something wrong.

You know it’s easy to say somebody is bad at the game and use it as an explanation why a certain element of a game is balanced as is.

Don’t knock me for it, but I’m gonna be a little cocky here for a second. I have played this game since the very first iteration in the very first alpha around 2018 with now roughly over 3k hours. I’ve played through all the metas over the years including the most annoying ones like the Firestaff AoE meta or the musket one-shot meta and I consider myself a really good player. I’m very comfortable in any 1vX situation and I have a very good grasp of the combat mechanics. And let me tell you, The ONLY thing I ever die to in OPR and wars at the moment is VG screams.

If I get stunned by a Hammer (which rarely ever happens) I might get heavily punished with a lot of damage, but in comparison to Petrifying Scream I can usually recover with a couple dodges and some pots fairly easily. Do I get clipped by a scream however and there are multiple opponents around me, I’m telling you right now that there is no way I survive that with an optimal medium armor setup and an average GS of 598.

Now without going totally overboard with this, I just wanted to make it clear that this is not exclusively about player skill or build, it’s more about the inherent suppressive nature of the ability. I can’t stress enough, that Petrifying Scream is just way too good and refer to my original post outlining all the benefits that it has.

Well, in this case i recommend you using Purify amulet perk :slight_smile: It will bring back your escape ability again making VG useless.

Maybe but if they nerfed it they would have to add something to voidblade to be able to close a gap maybe like ga lung. Because you can run at a normal pace away from a vg without taking hits to its light attacks. Rn scream is the only way to lock someone down to get some hits on them. I think its fine the way it is. Its only anoying when you have multiple vgs screaming at you and thats because they nerfered ga so people swapped over. I think as they release weapons there will be much less vg runing around and this wont be as annoying

Im not sure if the perk freedom works on roots because it doesnt say in the description and if not then they should add roots to freedom and run freedom on your armor. Boom fixed without a nerf

fact that this game is devolved into a series of abilities and their associated counters demonstrably shows how far the combat design has fallen since 2020.

As far as useful contribution to this thread. The VG is in a similar state that the IG was at release it does everything well and nothing really poorly.

Dmg, Utility, and CC all in one just like IG before its nerfs. It needs a similar balance pass.

Also Diminishing returns on CC chaining.
Does it make any sense to anyone that AGS removed stagger from light attacks but have done nothing for CC chaining that can create the same effect that “stagger spam” created in just a slightly longer but negligible time frame?

At least w the old combat system you had actual mechanics to manage this CC fest. Now you just burn stamina on dodge rolls and have no sprint modifier to manage positioning and spacing two crucial aspects to managing CC in combat.

And people wonder why people have shifted more and more toward light roll and the rise in Rapier for Fleche’s utility. Almost like spacing, iframes and mobility are important core aspects of combat.

Don’t know what server you’re playing on but IG is still plenty good.

It can still box and deul.
Ice spikes provide plenty of hard hitting damage
Storm still one of the best synergized AOEs
Shower can still lock down and provide utility
Cleansing entomb alternative building paths allow free on demand cleanse of every major debuff in combat on entry and the stam regen gained is enough to get seperation on a light build, medium build can pair it off w a shower to escape if CDs properly managed.

Autos hit like a truck when built and itemized correctly

Weapon perks suck and really only need unending thaw on armor. So id give you that but if anything that lets you run wild on dmg perks on weapon, slot that on armor and still have 4 armor slots for Weapon 2 perks.

Ye IG is fine, could be better but its not a dead weapon

over my 10k hours in the game , i noticed something really strange , its not fun to die in pvp ,
could you please give me immortality ? also i dont like having to hit things so many times
for them to die , i would also like about 500% dmg more , but just for me .
also i am hungry send me meatballs and sauce.
