I wont return until I can hit stuff with GA again. They must fix desync, movement bug and weaponswap bug as minimum.
I would also like to see alot of QoL fixes before I come back. I already have a job, I dont need a digital job on top of that.
Another thing that discourage me is this game lack a soul. Same perks on all stuff… you just have to get the right combination… Where is the Forgotten GA of the mad wizard that is almost unique and scales with int… Or the flaming xmastree of terror…
Everything feels the same… And the quests… Uh… can you run to the other side of the map and get a banana and then run back to me because uhh I want a banana…
Sure the story might be cool for those who like reading…Im a guy so I dont read things in games unless its max one sentence and written in blood on a wall…
You can tell a great story with stuff in game with props and some single sentences written on walls… Also quests can start in point A and end in point B…
I dunno,
they need to make the game fun. Except the dupe bugs I think the game was more fun on release than after all patching.
Oh yes they need to reward players for what the player want to do… Not force every one to run mutations. Ok so OPR rewards is a small step in that direction but why shall pvp rewards always be lower/worse than pve rewards… 100 shards for OPR and 4k(?) for (lvl 10) mutations…
Now pve crowd say lvl 10 mutations are harder… They obviously havent tried to kill a healer/rapier in pvp with a GA…No I get it you can cheat in pvp and take turn killing each other…But they could implement a ranking system where you get some form of reward for killing high ranked players and the highranked players probably will not agree to be killed over and over because they will lose their rank… Or something like that…
Plus other nice games is coming out and irl summer is getting closer…
But if AGS get their $h17 together I do think they can get some players back…but they must reduce chores/work and increase FUN…
Players will return when something peaks their interest, likely not a bug fix month and honestly that’s fine, hopefully the dev’s can just plug away at the game at a healthier pace without rushing content and get the game in a state where those who liked the game at the start will return
Won’t come back for February. I like the bones of the game, but towns/inventory/repair and travel felt like I was being punished too much.
GS expertise…still not sure 1hat that’s all about.
Bug fixes while good, is just basic maintenance and nothing to get excited about. Especially as we all know with Amazon, every patch brings new bugs/exploits.
People may come back for new content or in my case, a major overhaul. Anything else is just fluff.
In about 2 weeks the patch will drop and the hype of the other game will have faded. It will be hard to tell why pop goes up, but it inevitability will.
If combat works better than now without the bugs, desync etc.
AND
the OPR changes are properly done and the rewards are improved as promised, then yes, it will be enough for many of the PvP oriented players to come back and try it.
They’d need a big overhaul of this game… I understand it is not in the dreams of the devs minds’ but this game seriously needs a complete PVP rework and also travel cost rework, rework of territory ownership and what not. I’m on the worst faction (Covenant) on my server, purple and green have been allied for 3-4 months whatever now and are pushing down any Cov revolt with force…
We had Windsward for a day or so after taking it from purple, they had multiple groups of green defenders, then we lost it to green with purple attackers… There is also two companies (the bigger ones) that are named the same but I and II in the end on both factions and they rule together and gold share between factions…
Covs trying to do PVP missions in green zones, 5 mins later Purple show up to kill you. Covs doing same in purple zones, suddenly a Wild Green army appears. It is super effective! I imagine this madness goes on in multiple servers now with the dropping playernumbers, and even if the devs added bonuses or whatever for switching to a smaller faction, devs gotta realize that these people are psychos and get happy over ruining the game experience for others… Just like cheaters in other games.
The idea of this game is great but it needs a serious PVP and territory overhaul, people who put same comp names on different factions and basically ally to rule the server needs to be given the permanent banhammer… But nothing happens and the charade goes on with dwindling playernumbers. With the release of Lost Ark, I can’t see why people would play NW over it at this point.
Tax system still unfairly rewards the owners. Economy for crafters is basically non-existent. RNG for BiS is BS. Ridiculous time gates still exist. People are still complaining about ban-resistant bots. Most of the core game is locked out by people. Weapon swap still doesn’t work very well. We’re only 50% through bug fixing month, so we’ll see what else they have for us. Otherwise no, a lot of casual players aren’t coming back.
Great post but I particularly agree with the above. The perk system is meh. It’s so boring some enhancements need to be introduced that spice up things. This could include the following:
Equipment set bonuses given when wearing 3 and 5 of a particular dropped ger set.
Unique weapons that scale off a different attribute (as you mentioned)
Quest line for ‘Fabled’ weapons / Gear (that needs to be crafted)
Additional slot to personalise weapons/gear (similar to gem slot)
More interesting procs.
Enhancements/features that for example only work when it’s PvP or PvE.
I’m sure there are lots of other features that could be added which would allow people to create a unique setup for themselves.
For sure I will return for a while to check out the changes. But I will not return for serious play until GS625/umbral will be removed (so probably never).
I will return if and when AGS shuts the game down and completely overhauls it, or releases a patch that overhauls literally everything except the graphics.
With the dumpster fire that this game is, I can feel confident saying most will not pay for an expansion to check it out. If the expansion is free, some may return, otherwise most will probably read the forums to see what kind of accelerant was thrown on the flames.
Blows my mind that they are not prioritizing FIXING the movement bug. That is the bane of most all Melee’s in War’s like why have a bug that happens like 30% of the time still occurring? I was in a war today and 5 of us got it. INSANE, It should be a #1 fix.
I dont know man. AGS takes sooo long to make these changes. And to be honest, those changes should have been in the Umbral patch from the getgo anyway. They are just completely disconnected with their game. And I will explain to you why:
A HUGE(!!!) amount of the core game evolves around PvP, yet there was no way at all to progress in any way by it. Some PvP avtivities where you get a warm handshake as an example:
Territorry fights: owning zones and creating income for your company, go to war for it vs. other companies.
OPR: Only way to go “PvP whenever you want”
They tried to promote open world PvP by giving us PvP loot and gathering luck.
So, my point is, there is just no way to progress your character at all with PvP - the only way is to make a Gypsum Cast from the 2 Ruby Gypsums you get from OPR. WAOW! Other than that you get some gold and azoth, which is almost nothing.
They present this game as PvP heavy and as I said, core mechanics like owning zones are evolving around PvP!
So my next point is: WHY WOULD YOU introduce the Umbral system and force everyone to ONLY GO mutations? The only way to progress now is to run mutations (which are the same dungeons I have ran 100+ anyway already). I just have no idea how a game designer can oversee this flaw. Cant wrap my head around it. And then they wonder why the PvPers either leave the game or rant the Devs on the forums.
Edit: Sry for mistakes, Im not an English speaker.
