SOLO content when?

Bah under geared. I was doing it at 520 solo. Takes a good build, knowing your environment and mechanics. A good hybrid paladin build can solo nearly all the content in this game.

Anything you do is content, just because you dont enjoy it doesnt make it not content.

Still solo content.

Have no place in an mmorpg. Im asuming you want on par loot with group content. The silver elites are meant for this.

about to hit 60 on my third account…and have the 4th in que. Not once have I needed a group until it got to raising gear score, then it was chest runs. What isn’t solo’able in this game?

I see that several hardcore players, players who are able to solo almost the entire game are here debating this hot topic.
I’m not surprised that you have a completely different view of what solo PVE means to you. And I mean this sincerely, I envy you the freedom to be able to do almost anything in this game solo.
But you must not forget that you represent a very small proportion of the players in this game and therefore you must not impose your vision of PVE, which leaves you a much wider freedom of actions than the average player can do.
Remember. New World has a great need to have a large community of players and it will by far not be composed by hardcore players.

Quests, fishing, farming, crafting ,OPR, grinding levels for weapons etc.

I took a two month break.

The 1 % is for the rare occasions when I actually do dungeons or require help with certain elite mobs.

Its not imposing a vision, it is stating that if you want to do solo stuff you can do it.
Like other post are saying, OPR- gathering- Market manipulation- leveling and grinding weapons and tradeskill, all solo stuff.
More PvE stuff, including solo stuff will eventually come, this game was thouught out to be an only PvP game, all PvE aspect that we have now are kinda meh(unfinished) because they were developed in a rush, compared to the time spent adjusting and creating a world around PvP.

But MMo should incentives group play, or even solo play but to reach a common/community effort. In NW we need a community not just a bunch of individual doing solo stuff. IMO.

Keep in mind this is an MMO - it’s designed for multiplayer experience. But maybe some touches to avoid “constant reliance on other people”:

A dungeon finder tool, so you don’t have to constantly be on Recruitment channel looking for something… You get matched automatically.

Better questlines (solo) for levels 1 - 60. It’s been so long and I skipped the whole questline by doing cooking levels… Maybe that will help.

I think the big thing for me a long time ago when I was still doing quests is there wasn’t much. I mean I had to youtube new world lore and learn about Isabella’s backstory from a 3rd party content creator on YT. Stuff like this should come within the game via cutscenes and not a bunch of scattered optional notes that nobody reads and have to piece together. I like the idea but not how it’s implemented.

Therefore I skipped the whole questline and just went to level 60 mostly from leveling up my trade skills.

Hardcore players? My current 54 has done nothing but crafting and town boards. Not a single quest. I was curious how fast I could level her…and there’s nothing hard core about town boards.

joke right?

I’m sorry, but I don’t consider you a hardcore player. What I see is that you like to play multiple characters in this game.
I did the same, but only two. The game gives us a lot of freedom to level up. That’s what I like about it.
I want to ask you the following question:
“Do you multiply your characters so that some of them end up on the same server at the next merge?”

all of them were on the same server till our guild moved from Ys to Pluto. I left 2 behind to farm, then Pluto got locked

They both farmed their banks full on Ys…merged and have not played them since the merge. I log on every day to get the 5 rabbits then play my main the rest of the night. Once they unlock the server I’ll have them all on the same server again.

A RL buddy has 3 accounts all on different servers…he likes being involved in different guilds. I prefer logging on the character I need for the situation needed instead of respeccing constantly.

I completely agree with you on the points you mentioned.
I do have a question for you though.
Apart from PVP and taking into account that new weapons and a new dungeon didn’t make many people come back to New World… what would you suggest to AG to implement or change in their game so that, for sure, it would make many players come back and want to stay?

:+1:

IMO, im gonna start pointing out that the thing that i love of NW its his Action combat system style, that very resemble a darksoul combat, very skill based and fast action.

That said, i think that NW failed to deliver something to the player to be atached to:

Visual is stunning BUT the models are repeated everywhere this hinder a sense of immersion in the player, cities have all the same size, sometimes the same layout, that is making a city not worth to be remember.
Faction Change IMO devalue the sense of community that can evolve from being always in the same faction, look at HORDE and ALLIANCE in wow for example.
PvE speaking all the enemy have the same behaviour, ranged do the same moves, meele do the same moves.
Even Mini bosses soffer the same problem:
BAINES and MALEVOLENCE are just a re-skin of the BRUTES with the AOE move changed.
This also devalue the immersion you can have in game.

The entire game is solo friendly, even expeditions if you’re dedicated enough.

Crafting, PvP, Harvesting? I played this game solo for the first 500 hours and got almost all skills to 200 and became a top PvPer. Didn’t start grouping up for Chest runs/Dungeons until later and everything worked out just dandy.

I soloed my way up to 60 with the only exceptions being expeditions.

I’d say aside from OPR almost all of my activities are solo.

While there are other people in OPR and it does put you in a group you are free to act as needed. Not sure if that counts in your eyes.

If you’re concern is that much of what appears to be soloable content is simply rinse and repeat then you’re also describing group content. Because “drrrrrrr” it’s an mmo and those games tend to rely upon grinding content on a loop.

This.

and as for OPR… ive done just fine solo-queued with my 525gs self (now at about 580). always at half or slightly above in the (flawed) end match rankings.

Negative, old school mmorpg player that firmly believes the solo track developers have invested in over the years dilutes the original multiplayer aspect of the games.
