I do not believe his intention was to be racist AT ALL, I have worked in the games industry and, the vast majority of farming and “in game currency sales” bots do indeed come from across the oceans in those two nations predominantly.
Either way, I don’t care where the bots are being ran from, they are still an issue that needs to be dealt with more swiftly.
Also, Chinese and Russian are not races folks, they are ethnicities.
It should be noted that on my server as of this morning there are already 10 NEW farming bots active (that I’ve found). And the market spike that always happens post patch has already fallen off for most items.
Even though it was badly worded what he said it is completely true about the Chinese bot farms. You can call it racism if that gets you sweaty and excited. It’s still a fact.
thanks for taking the time to make a video showing that this is an ongoing challenge for AGS. no amount of automation is ever going to solve it. they need to have GMs that respond to telemetry, bot reports, etc.
and props for using futureheads in that video. i haven’t heard them in awhile.
The only other solution I have seen is we’ve started boxing bots in with camps, unfortunately this takes time away from playing the game, which has made quite a few of my company-mates just straight up stop playing.
Most of them are lower level or new players that bought this game to play with the rest of us, it has become extremely difficult for them to enjoy the game with the amount of bots regularly joining.
Someone said that Ashes of creations is the Star citizen of Fantasy MMOs, and i think its going to be exactly that. Don’t get your hopes too high my friend
I’m part Chinese and I do not see any problem with this conversation, bots, in general, are an issue that needs to be tackled but it is also a fact where the majority of them come from.
It has gone to the point people are trying to barricade the bloody things with tents, you report them numerous times by numerous players and a week later they are still there, taking resources and destroying the economy.
@Hapa Thanks for bringing this to our attention. All player reports are reviewed manually by our game moderation team. We’ve been working hard on identifying bots and have banned over 9000 since launch. If you have additional info you want to provide, please continue to submit links and screenshots through Report a Player or Company - Support | Amazon Games
The process is too slow. I have reported tons of bots in their teens and they make it to 60 and still run free. I have seen a few on my list no longer log in but it took 3-4 months. There is one I have been reporting for 3 weeks. It was level 47 and sits at a double orichalcum spawn in ebonscale on the IP beach. Its been there 24/7 for at least the 3 weeks I have been reporting it. The bot gained 2 levels from 47-49 on JUST TWO ORICHALCUM NODES. Thats just insane. Please do better.
I’m almost ready to just give up reporting the same high level fishing & gathering bots since nothing is being done. I have many on my list that have been active over 2 months. In that time there may have been a possible 1-3 day ban and then they are back. It doesn’t take a rocket surgeon to flag accounts consistently online 24/7 for bot activity. Especially when players are reporting them in-game as well. Ban waves are also useless and I’m sure the bots love them, it gives them time to get their money’s worth if/when they are banned. These bots need to be banned Early & Often as reports come in that AGS verifies with in-game GMs. It’s FEB now, I’m waiting for the so-called crack down on bots that AGS was going to do.
Were the bots banned or is a dying game not worth botting? I remember a quote from a youtube interview of a gold seller. “If we sold all the gold we already have we would be rich.”
I appreciate your response and the fact you ARE banning some bots. However, I mean no offense, but the entire purpose of this post is that you guys are not doing ENOUGH. If a bot achieves level 60 that is quite a bit of time, even just farming 24/7 that they have been running around the world. I run loops I run on the regular to gather as I am one of my companies main production guys. And I see these bots every day. I have gotten to the point where I am adding in the number of reports I have sent on each one. One of the lvl 60 bots is on report number 25.
You should be able to pull the data and see a character running a straight loop and only farming specific nodes. And if you don not have this ability I’d highly suggest you guys add some kind of ability to.
Watch how the bot I’ve been reporting has the exact same movements on multiple instances at different notes. I don’t know how much more evidence you need.
if they had half the fucking brain… in a MMO they would have everything on a spread sheet for item ID and their #'s corresponding to it… each wep, node, etc would have a number assigned to it… this is LITERALLY basic game dev-ing 101… Oh im sorry thats too much to ask of the team…
