Trophies and Furnishing need more love, imo. Here are a few ideas:
- Please ditch the ‘only 5 active per house at a time’ limit. If the limit is non-negotiable, then please allow us to select which five are active for each house from the character bio screen where we currently can view what is active.
Which leads me to… - Trophies need to be ‘up’ in a house to be activated you say? And if you were to allow activating a trophy from the bio that doesn’t allow for pulling down ‘inactive’ trophies and putting up ‘actives’? How about a brand new Trophy Case, crafted by your favorite furnisher! Trophies could be mounted on walls or placed in the Trophy Case allowing for decorating choices. Also on the decorating choices bit… trophy case schematics could be available in each furnishing style to match the rest of the house, if possible. Then any trophy installed in a house whether on the wall or in the trophy case could be activated.
This gives Furnishers a piece of furniture that more folks would actually be interested in obtaining, as well as flexibility to not have to take up an entire wall with your Major Fishing Trophy (which does not match the rest of your decor at all. - What about a consumable for Furnishers to create that would have an ongoing demand? How about… Trophy Polish! Have trophies get ‘tarnished’ if they go for x days without being polished, and perhaps only give 50% of their benefit until the player polishes them with a trophy polish.
If you do implement something like this, hopefully the interface could be friendly and not require a lot of steps on a frequent schedule for the player to identify trophies needing polish and be able to polish them with the ease. Perhaps something like the ‘repair’ or ‘repair all’ buttons for equipped gear, that just require having the necessary repair bits in your inventory. There could UI notifications similar to armor needing repair, and maybe you have to go to the house and open a menu and click “Polish” on a specific trophy or “Polish All” if you have enough polishes on hand.
Anyhow, those are a few of my ideas for giving trophies and furnishing a little love. ^.^
