Some People Are Not Understanding Dec Update

It’ll still go up over time.

A very long time from the sounds of it. I was counting on being able to do the grind that other people have done for HWM after I leveled crafting and played at my own pace. Now I’m going to be a year behind other players who haven’t played for a year at this point?

My “Expert(insert weapon name here)” title having almost all weapons to level 20 says otherwise. Enough of the “all crafters do is sit in town” straw man.

Another thing… nobody talks about this but tools also have a gearscore. Armor also has perks for harvesting and perks for crafting. How are those effected. Are my crafting tools and armor also downgraded because I don’t have a high WM? Have the developers even though about this aspect whatsoever? Does anyone really trust scaling anything in this game won’t be a cluster F of more bugs? They still have gems/perks and shit that don’t work right. They didn’t even get zone scaling right. Now they are going to scale something else.

OMG the post you were referring to where I said it was “best for the game” was NOT ABOUT BOOSTS it was Amazon KEEPING PEOPLE IN THEIR GAME LONGER which provide them income in other ways besides just selling boosts. I, no where in that post said anything about cash shop boosts. It was about the grind. I shall paste the post you were quoting below:

When people continue to play their game, cash shop or not, they earn income from companies that sponsor the game due to youtube streamers, content creators, and all sorts of other ways. Cash shop is only one single method and a smaller one at that. lol But you’d have to understand business to realize that. If the only way they made profit was cash shop, then the game would be dead already.

It’s not about cash shop. It’s about keeping people in their game playing.

“We see you worked hard for that 600 gear, so we’re going to take it away and make you work harder”
I set my alarm for 4am so I could get on and farm orichalcum and make my own voidbent set. Now they’re just giving me the finger.
I’ve been playing MMOs all my life, and AGS is digging their own grave. Find a different way to keep people playing, and stop being lazy by adding more and more grind.
If this part of the PTR makes it to live, expect a lot of people to leave.

This is my take. The answers to the grind are not extending it artificially, it’s finding ways to vary it.

An expert isn’t the top. My mum calls me an expert because I can fix her computer, create a game, or make a website. I’m sure there are people out there better than me.

Unless you master a weapon you’re not on the top, you’re a mere expert. Also, getting level 20 in a weapon doesn’t take long. You just head over to dead man’s cove and you’ve got it in 2 hours. Impressive.

Watermark is per slot, tools do not drop so are unaffected by the watermark system, or everyone would be in the same boat.

this and more
'dupes still show everyday
RMT still going
server merges are needed like water/bread
OPR still messy/lag/overtuned mobs/dmg

and more

If Amazon is going to deny me the opportunities that others have had to level their gear score just to try to force me to play longer, a year longer, maybe my best response is to stop playing. And maybe I should try to get back all the money I’ve spent in good faith on this game considering all the problems it’s had, like the 3 week lockout of furniture screwing me over already.

which they did by giving you a full list of things you can do now to earn expertise, and by my math will get their faster than the limited ways you had to do super grind for HWM doing the most boring same old things. Heard it all the time from my company about that grind. And several in my company are excited that there are more ways now to earn expertise when it was even more limited before.

How long by your math is it going to take a new level 60 to get to 600 gear score?

So then you would also understand you aren’t going to convince people otherwise. Why make posts trying to convince people otherwise?

Endgame here is not the same as every MMO. It doesn’t take me 500 hours to max crafting in WoW for instance. They don’t even allow you to max all crafting. Im not running around just looting boxes there to raise some artificial WM there for instance. I don’t have to grind materials for days on end with groups of others just to enter a dungeon one time. This games end game is nothing like every other MMO. There are a lot of different things about this end game than a lot of other MMOs and I am not going to sit here and list all of them for you. So again, unless you experience it then you don’t understand and shouldn’t talk about it.

You are complaining about having to play a game longer that you were already playing. If you don’t enjoy the grind, why did you grind to begin with? You aren’t forced to do anything you don’t want to do. If it was work to begin with, then it remains work and you shouldn’t have done it. This is just a way you can keep going IF you are having fun. What the hell is the difference? They have to keep people in the game. The even gave you more ways to grind. Besides the shaft to crafters for their previous time (which i agree with) there is no issue here. Same game. Same activities. Same grind. Just more ways to grind. omg

You had the same opportunity, you weren’t denied anything, you chose the path to craft 600gs gear score items. It has never been stated that crafting gets your WM up. That’s a huge area of progression in the game you circumvented, and now you can’t.

It’s sad it has made you feel like you’ve lost out, but after I max out my WM again on my second character I’ll max out my crafting too. We’re in the same but opposite boat. In the end the same time investment will have gone in to “complete” the game.

See this guy gets it. lol

Just existing players who ignored other content than grinding mobs and chests being like 6 months, a year ahead in progression. Which means they will win PVP right?

In other interviews they talk about some other things they are going to add. I don’t really feel like digging them up right now honestly.

My question is, are the repair costs going to respect the decrease in quality? Why should we pay more for someone that isn’t being fully utilized.

grinding HwM doesnt represent mastering the blade, its mostly following people around and spamming attacks.

From an immersion standpoint dueling should be the best way to increase expertise, or solo training and practice. Because thats whats required to master the use of weapons irl. not opening chests or gang attacking animals.

I spent my time earning gold to buy gear on the AH because that’s the game they made. It’s such an obvious issue that one would think they thought this through and did it on purpose, because it’s been a huge thing in every prior MMO whether or not this was possible.

If it was a 1-2 month grind to get your crafting up and a 1-2 month grind to get your gs up (just for example) and now it will be a 6 month grind to get your gs up, someone who got gs first will have to spend 4 months total (again just as an example) whereas someone who got crafting first (or gold off the tp in general) will now have to spend 8 months total. How is that fair?

No you both distinctly do not get it. Try using the little heart to +1 if you have nothing to add.
