What is your character name in New World: WarMongerian
What server/world did you experience your issue on: Pluto
Describe the issue you are experiencing: Some popup blocks my ability to play NW.
Is this a bug or an exploit: Honestly not sure, never had this before this morning.
(if a bug) How did the issue effect your gameplay: Prevented gameplay.
(if a bug) Were you able to recover from the issue: Not had a chance to talk to anyone computer savvy yet, to find out what this is.
(if a bug) Please include a screenshot or video of the issue that you have experienced: I tried to get a screen shot, but after several attempts, gave up, as the print screen seems to not be able to copy my screen to the clipboard.
What are the steps to reproduce the issue as you experienced: So far, 5 for 5, just trying to launch the game as always.
So what the heck is this thing, and why, after playing for the last 3 months am I just now seeing this today?
Is it normal to not be able to use the print screen and capture the image to the clipboard? Because I have yet to be able to get an image of the first screen.
I’m surprised that you’re surprised, anti cheat software has been in games for a long, long time. Valve’s had anti cheat software on Counterstrike since 2002, for example.
Looks like you’ll stop playing most MMOs (and many single player games as well). If it’s not EAC it’s PunkBuster, BattlEye, XIGNCODE3, nProtect GameGuard, or one of multiple others. And the ones below are just the kernel level anti-cheats, not counting anticheats like Warden and Valve’s VAC. You’ve had watchdog software on damned near every game you’ve played in the past year…you obviously just didn’t know it.
