Sound cutting out IN/OUT of game

Sound Cutting out until I reinstall drivers for sound

when I lose sound in game, its gone for good unless i reinstall/update drivers for audio. then it comes back for a short time before it cuts out again, this is annoying, cause none of any one of any game of the 300 plus I have on steam and 50 plus games from other domains do not do this. Just this game New World

Wanted to link this above as this is the same problem my wife’s computer is having. Her sound will cut out sometimes a few seconds in game and other times it can be up to an hour. It eliminates all sound from her speakers whether or not she is in game after it happens.

I have done all the basics including reinstalling the audio drivers. (Reinstalling the drivers fixed the issue for about two hours) As well as following all Windows 10 steps.

It only happens when New World is being played and all other troubleshooting points to something related to the game. Has there been any other discussion on this that I may have missed? Any help would be amazing!

I’m sorry that your wife and you are having issues with the audio of New Word Game.

Make sure that the in-game volume isn’t disabled or too low.

1. From the Home screen, click the cogwheel icon in the top-right corner. If you’ve already loaded into a world, press Esc and then click Settings.
2. Select the Audio tab and then adjust the volume as needed.

If volume isn’t the issue, try the troubleshooting over at Microsoft Support(Fix sound problems in Windows 10).

First of all thanks for the quick response! Also we have solved the problem,

after two hours of technical troubleshooting and me screaming at my speakers I have determined that I am a certified idiot

Turns out the power adapter on the power strip was “in” but not really in. I have committed the cardinal sin of troubleshooting and assumed it was good. Never forget ladies and gents always assume you are the problem
