Tried applying the items again last night, and succeeded. 
Have not tried to salvage the gear yet. But, if my legacy character is of an indication, that should now be no issue.
I salvaged the other part of the recipe ! I cant craft the item anymore so the part remaining is useless 
alot of us salvaged the clothing or dropped them on the floor, so we cant get rid of them.
A year later, still no update. Bummer

I have the same issue on Castle of Steel. I have these crafting resources stuck in my bag. It does not even allow me to off load them to storage.

will the known issues list be updated with todays patch? If so could this be added to it?

bump for an update, still multiple players with these items in inventory
please make this quest repeatable, or something. these items in my inventory for over a year now is frustrating

At a minimum can we get the ability to move it to storage. I’d just like them out of my bag while questing.

Unfortunately, at this time I have no further updates to provide regarding this issue.
These are currently fixed in PTR and should make it to live soon. More details here:
