Im free to make topics. If you dont like it that is not my problem.
I don’t even know what you’re referencing, can you at least be clear?
Oh the leftist media again! Shit i should have known better… lol
Neat way of saying “we” in a thread you started “speak for yourself (sic.) gamers”
You said: do you really need to make a new topic about it. My clear answer is YES because im free to do so
I dont speak for other gamers in this instance. Im implying that individuals don’t speak for each other without concent. Not difficult right?
I really hate the people that don’t understand “we” doesn’t include everyone. It can be a few as 2 people. Like if you invite your friend and his wife over and at the end of the night they say “ok we are about to head out”
Are you like "what do you mean “we”, I’m staying here in my house.
But you don’t even link the post you’re complaining about.
I have no idea what you’re talking about, therefore I think it’s silly that you’re making a complaint on a post without even referencing it.
You could’ve just commented on the post, but instead you’re making a whole new thread.
Are you scared of the reply on that thread or what’s going on? I’m not saying you can’t make a thread but… who asked?
seriously? look at the latest topics. You know exactly what i mean
Yes seriously, please enlighten me because as far as I can see you’re just making a tantrum without cause.
Well if your community (Companies) Drops since from the void update to today from 380 to 60 from that 60 are 45 only logging in for the wars cause every other feature and yes the war its self is not playable, but you have to do it,ill guess its fine that we speak in a “we” for them aswell.
Why are you afraid to post the post you dislike? Can’t you at least do that?
You armchair generals and keyboard attic fanatics need to stop with the ‘’ we ‘’ stuff.
Who are you talking to?
You snooty tone while using and referencing to yourself as 'I" is even more cringey than the occasionaly WE users of the forums.
lol
Found one since someone just posted in it
https://forums.newworld.com/t/we-have-an-official-eta-on-trading-post/602651
But it’s using “we” correctly as it refers to us the playerbase recieving an eta.
I don’t understand…
I think it’s not so much about including everyone, but rather about what group of people “we” refers to being unclear. I.e. in your example “we” refers to people who came together (friend and his wife), in Trump rally example “we” refers to either conservatives/republicans or Americans in general, depending on the context. On a gaming forum “we” generally refers to people who play that particular game, but when there’s no consensus about the topic, people start to wonder which subset of the population is being referenced and how large it is.
What this “we hate the we trend” is all about; a CM once stated ages ago “don’t use we, you only speak for yourself” (paraphrasing here).
Since then it has become the new cool thing to jump on people about, completely disregarding context.
At the risk of catching the forum gods’ ire, screw you and the horse you rode in on. Make your own point instead of bandwagoning on such a nonsense point.
I don’t see it. Never do I see a post saying “we” and get mad acting like that “we” included my agreement with that opinion. Just like the same dudes will fight “need” like you want that not need it when someone says “I need more character slots”. Acting like we really need anything in life except air food water and shelter. It’s just pointless typing and arguing over minor words when you should know obviously “we” meant him only or maybe him and his company or need means want and not like I need more character slots to survive.
Any time I see a “we need” thread I always know half those comments are arguing the use of those 2 words and just wonder why.
It was already explained why - “we” carries a different weight, depending on how many people it refers to. There’s a very good reason why pretty much all human languages make a distinction between one, few, and many.
I agree with you, OP. But if my knowledge of 2021 forum culture is accurate, this thread will likely result in an increase of “we” posts.
