What are the steps to reproduce the issue as you experienced: Level fishing to a new aptitude level and check your inventory
This is not a file integrity issue. The lesser chests for the first two aptitude breakpoints land in my inventory every time - it is just the good one that doesn’t. This has now happened from Aptitude 0 to 1, 1 to 2, 2 to 3, 3 to 4, and 4 to 5, and now 5 to 6 & 6 to 7…so I expect it to continue until the bug is fixed.
And now, what’s supposed to happen and does not happen with the final reward chest…here’s what happens at the first step, and there’s the chest:

@Hiply i’ve reported this repeatedly over the last 4 weeks to only receive the message back “The team are aware of the issue and are working hard to fix this” i’ve given up on fishing at aptitude 8 and will probably give up on the game itself soon
In any event, it’s tied to the rollover step & not the first two…and since it’s not giving the gypsum if you earn one at the Aptitude rollover point it seems clear that even though part of the code clearly recognizes you got there (since it rolls over, updates, and tells you you should have rewards coming) part of the code doesn’t.
The Devs would, of course, be welcome to manually add these missing specialized chests to my inventory though.

In this case I recommend you to contact live support at New World - Support | Amazon Games (New World - Support | Amazon Games) so they can escalate this issue. Take into consideration that the escalation may require logs in-game and DXDiag, therefore have them ready when contacting our representatives.
DxDiag
Go to Windows Start search bar and type dxdiag.
Click on dxdiag.exe.
When green progress bar goes away, select Save All Information and save the file to their desktop.
Logs in-game
Press Windows+R on the keyboard, type %localappdata% and press enter.
Open the most recent file from this folder: AGS/New World/LogBackups.
Send the logs file that you see in the LogBackups folder.
Ok, I’m in chat with “Charlie” there right now and I’ve not only linked him to this thread but have my Dec/Jan logs zipped up (which Charlie didn’t want at the time but he emailed me asking for them about 15 minutes later) and a fresh dxdiag dump ready as well. We’ll see what happens.
[EDIT] ok, so apparently it’s a known bug but they’re creating a ticket so the devs know about the bug the bug that support says they already know about - and there is nothing to indicate we’ll ever get what we earned:
Charlie [12:35:59 PM] : So we are aware of this issue at the moment so Hiply what I’m going to do for you is file a ticket so that the dev team can have a look at the issue as this is a known bug that needs fixing
Me [12:36:53 PM] : Great, any plans on giving those of us who can prove via log files we actually earned them all the chests we haven’t received?
Me [12:38:14 PM] : A bunch of us master fishermen are missing out on the same specialized level rewards every other gathering skill is getting.
Charlie [12:41:40 PM] : That must be very frustrating. At this moment, we do not have an ETA on the fix or any confirmation on whether we can give compensations or not.
I have to say I’m not thrilled with the response but the issue isn’t with Charlie, he’s just doing what he can.
[EDIT 2] maybe 15 minutes after our chat, he emailed me and asked for the game logs. Not long after that another email:
"Hi Hiply
I trust you are well.
This is a confirmation email stating that your logs has been received and provided to our technical team.
Please provide us with some time so we can have this resolved for you. Our technical team will get back to you via email."
This has been a bug for well over a month now - AGS are aware and have done NOTHING to fix it.
You just get the usual bloe off “we are aware of the issue and sorry - we`ll look at it when we can be bothered (maybe) and concentrate on bringing in new bugs every patch for content no one really wanted”
I’m now approaching Aptitude 8, and this is the latest email I’ve received on my ticket:

We realize how frustrating this can be.
Your issue has been ticketed and our Dev team is still looking into this and thank you again for reporting this issue to us, feedback like yours always helps us here at Amazon Games to keep improving and giving the best to our gamers!
At this time we do not have an ETA for when this bug will be fixed or if there are any compensations in place.
In short, basically nothing after spending an extended time in support chat, emailing logs, providing links and screenshots.
And once again, at Aptitude 8, the chest is not rewarded. I don’t believe it’s unfair to say AGS owes us these chests as compensation. No other crafting or gathering skill has this issue - those other players are all getting the rewards they should. I know we’re a niche bunch, us Fishing Masters, but if this was happening with Armorsmithing, mining, etc, the outcry on the forums would probably be loud enough to get attention.
I think this deserves to be on an escalation list and some answer other than “we don’t know, and we don’t know if you’ll be compensated” is warranted. I also know it’s not an issue anyone on the Community Team can solve, but maybe a little push?
T3 Fishing Aptitude chests still not dropping although the game indicates as such.
This thing’s going on for months now.
I have raised this issue with support on multiple occasions to no avail.
Also I strongly agree that “we don’t know, and we don’t know if you’ll be compensated” is completely unacceptable.
When will this issue ever be in the bugs/fixes queue I honestly dont know.
When ? let’s ask again.
