I was reading this topic and saw someone asking if PVP luck was an actual thing. Since there are no tooltips in the game telling us if this is the case or not.
After scrolling down a little, I saw a response of Customer Service employee Wyvernn. Wyvernn basically told us that PVP luck has never been a thing. See the screenshot below please:
Added a +10% Luck bonus and a +30% Gathering Luck bonus to players flagged for PvP.
So we are kinda clueless here now. The patchnotes are telling us that we do have a PVP luck bonus. In game there is no tooltip confirming this and now we have a staffmember telling us that this has never been a thing. Can we please get some clarity about this? @Luxendra@Wyvernn.
First, the patch notes talk about a bonus to flagged players, not a “pvp” luck bonus (which could be understood as getting better loot when doing pvp, like when looting gear from opponents). Their might have been a big missunderstanding between that player and the GM.
If it’s not a missunderstanding, that GM is either clueless or AGS did a big mistake and forgot to implement the luck bonus.
And for my anecdotal evidence, I do notice a huge difference when gathering with pvp flag on. No idea for the bonus luck as i don’t engage in activities that benefit from it.
PS: in any case i agree that there now NEEDS to be a clarification by AGS regarding that issue.
Looks to me like they were responding to a question about getting perks on gear. Might be asking if being flagged would help or might be asking if there is a perk that would increase luck in a PvP situation. The person responding could have thought that as well. I didn’t go and read the last post.
I do agree with you that I feel like im having more luck with PVP up. But that’s still a feeling and we might be thinking that just because of the patchnotes. I’ve spoken to a lot of people that feel like PVP luck is not an actual thing. I don’t know the exact details of their gear and drops.
Will you stop with this c****p? The momment luck was out in the patch all prices dropped by 80% because every legendary mat dropped like crazy. Void ore went from 7k to 500g ffs
Trophy prices also decreased instantly.
You don’t just turn on pvp and go around killing things. You need food and specific sets also in order to reach certain luck thresholds.
I don’t see a single post about dungeons in there. I know some moderator confirmed that being flagged PVP in dungeons does not increase your luck. Let’s not talk about dungeons.
This is not a bait. We have NOTHING in the game that tells us about the 10% extra luck for being PVP flagged. They only tell us things about other bonuses while being flagged. Nothing about luck is mentioned.
There is either big misunderstanding with the post mentioned or there is no luck added. Either way, we need a confirmation somewhere.
Imagine being a dev and telling a player “Sadly, PvP luck is not a thing”. Doesn’t matter what I know to be true. That statement definitely deserves some clarification.
The worst case scenario is that you are clueless and pvp luck is nonexistent. Highly unlikely but deserves clarification at the very least. Generally when you misinform a customer at work you are obliged to correct yourself.
As a customer, its usually smart to ask for clarification rather than get an attitude with them and the other person they misinformed before you walk away with a fasle-sense of accomplishment like you helped something.
I think this is a misunderstanding. Hes not talking about luck for Flagged players, hes talking about a different “PVP Luck” (I guess when you kill someone in open world for example).
I get way more legendaries since my runs with pvp on than I used to before. Same goes with every other dedicated player I know.
Luck works based on item thresholds. Thus most people that complain have not reached the required threshold through gear AND trophies.
For example: if you are running around with three minor luck trophies and full luck gear but not 580+ you will not see a noticeable increase with the 10% luck. With higher trophies it will rain legendaries…
You should reconsider who is the clueless one here…
I got a void ore with my only luck being pvp flagged as long as your 200 gathering you have a chance at it. Also the tool tip states the gathering luck but not the regular luck increase.
