Well, after Gathering for hundreds of hours since the PvP luck, I have noticed an undeniable increase in drops. Void ore used to be super rare, getting like 1 per week, now I get like 1 per hour lol It seems gathering luck and pvp gathering luck stacks.
Now, for pvp loot luck… it should work, but I have it too inconsistent to affirm it works. Like, I’ve been looting chests for months, and sometimes I notice a difference with pvp on while sometimes I turn off pvp and start getting more drops.
Tho luck seems bugged sometimes, requiring a restart or re-equip items. The shield luck doesn’t seem to apply either and pearls decrease your luck, according to rumors.
As for a Dev saying pvp luck isn’t a thing… well, AGS is already well-known to have incompetent and clueless Devs. A friend of mines once contacted support and the dev asked him “what’s new world?” -_-
I’m not going to make excuses for poorly trained staff and miscommunication but…
This wasn’t even a dev… it’s a customer support person who clearly speaks English as a second language based on their posts.
Y’all are wild, luck gives you additional drops, but doesn’t affect the gear score of what’s dropped. There’s probably also some thresholds that have to be hit for certain things to drop, and unless those tables get datamined, you’re never going to get the answer you’re looking for about specific items
I believe Wyvernn was answering a question about PVP luck bonus inside Expedition, which PVP luck bonus doesn’t apply to Expedition, that was posted in a release note about PVP luck bonus. Either Wyvernn didn’t fully answer the question 100% just answer the part of the question about inside Expedition.
Nah, we can’t see the context of what it was asked, but as it was already stated by someone else, he was most likely talking about the drops you get from killing another player. Sometimes they drop gear, if you are wearing luck gear, will that pvp drop be better? He told him it is not a thing. Max gs i have gotten in pvp drops is 509.
Technically maaaybe it’s not PVP luck, it’s the same global modifier as the luck on your gear.

This isn’t world of Warcraft. Embrace the mystery for a moment and put down icy wins for telling you how to build. AGS stealths stuff all the time I to patches. Gathering speed settlement perk was found also to provide yield.
Well of course, they are out miles from the nearest recent camp in their full harvesting gear and a bunch of people flagged and setup for PVP combat comes after them, it is only sensible to scarper. They are not going to win.
It is pretty obvious the idea in this change was not to encourage actual PVP it is was to provide some easy targets in harvesting gear for bored pvp-ers.
The exception would be the occasional person harvesting in full combat gear as bait, but those guys are pretty rare.
My point is, when you kill another player, that is pvp…and when you kill a player, a bag drops, usually around 500 gs item. There is no luck that applies to that drop from killing another player(pvp). Being flagged and killing npc mobs is still pve (while flagged for pvp).
I have killed players out gathering, when i am gathering also. I bought mining gear with full int, because i am a mage. If i see another flagged player, i initiate the attack. That way i can fight for a gathering spot in my populated server (pluto). Of the are not flagged, they are just annoying, having me wishing i can kill them. If i die, then they won the spot fair and square.
