PVP is so unenjoyable because of this unbelievably fast stamina regain pure mages in light armor and bow users can dodge literally forever people continuously dodge just to move fast in the game. I understand that people in light armor should be able to be more agile but the only way to even fight mages in pvp is to have a great axe and even then it’s not even it’s not great odds. Fixing this stamina regain with make a lot of passives more useful and it will allow people to not be able to abuse the dodge roll 24/7. During the fights I’m just continuously chasing them and dodging as best as I can but they can dodge roll forever so the entire fight I’m eating and trying to close gaps only to find out it’s pointless because they can dodge forever.
Yeah but heavy armor users can hold W and drink pots forever so what’s the issue. Also if you can’t catch a mage as a GA user in heavy armor you need to look at user issue. 30% bloodlust is op and can catch anyone.
PVP is broken like this because they removed stagger, they didn’t even try to fix anything. Just removed the one feature that punishes noobs who don’t roll/block at the right time, so now you can just spam roll with no consequences for being caught at low stamina except for like gravity well and thats about it.
Bloodlust can’t catch musket/bow but yeah it can catch most mages. And thats besides the point, basically every melee weapon that isn’t great axe is totally useless (unless you use a great axe AND that other melee weapon) because without Bloodlust you have zero chances of chasing people down.
Good thing heavy armor is op then. Gravity well is only good because it’s bugged and stuns people that touch it randomly. Also, heavy armor melee can literally sit on forts and not be contested, besides maybe by ice gauntlet, so if you’re in the wide open against ranged yes you’re going to be at a disadvantage
What do you mean I’m a sword and shield user and have maxed it out yes you can block a decent amount of range attacks but potion cool downs are long and basically your defenses are broken by the time you can drink another potion and your health is low. Also blocking can’t counter the ice gauntlet ice storm and ice shower if you get caught in that combo it’s over period. There is no chance of escaping and even trying to chase the person down you’re dead.
Lol literally just hold you shield up and the mage’s auto attacks can’t hit you.
Like I said that doesn’t block the abilities and by the time your defense is broken you’re dead. On the other hand if I somehow get lucky on catching a mage with gravity well or path a destiny I only can only get about 1 or two auto attacks in before they dodge and roll out of the way never to be seen again and I have to chase him down again it’s just pointless the only Meelee weapon that stands a chance against a mage is the great axe and even the great axe can barely keep up with the dodge rolls. Once they nerf bloodlust there will be no way to beat mages in NW
lifestaff pogu. but no ice is overtuned but fire alone is garbage. So I wish they’d buff fire and nerf ice. I play firestaff/rapier and midgame it was amazing but end game it is utter trash because of how int is scaled and it does garbage damage to anyone with moderate con and GA. 2 heavy armor GA can shut down a fire mage instantly because fire doesn’t do enough damage to even get one to half to counter play anything. You can literally heavy attack to 25% hp for them to health pot and they will be off pot CD again before you can kill them.
Bloodlust doesn’t even kick in until you’re in GAxe melee range. I raced a guy from the edge of reekwater map back to the town and I couldn’t catch him with Bloodlust, Charge and Berserk because of the stupid animation delays. So these skills that give minor speed buff actually become a hinderance when they freeze you in place.
Just about got near him outside of town then he just troll rolled off out way ahead again.
You wouldn’t be saying that in outpost rush. Can’t run from anything even with light armor in OR and animation cancel…
Then you were doing something very wrong
If he is bow/musket and plays smart then you will never catch him.
To use bloodlust effectively you have to also use charge/reap/gravity well effectively.
Only charge IF you it will put you in range for bloodlust when it ends.
Only gravity well/reap IF the enemy likely can’t/won’t roll out of it.
I mean yeah a shield tank isn’t supposed to be able to catch a mage. Unless you had great axe as second weapon. Your shield should prevent you from dying if you use it right, so you will just be unable to kill eachother and its a stalemate.
Mages will melt the heaviest tanks no matter if you use the shield right you can’t block everything but they can roll and dodge everywhere. Also I have at least 1 gap closer on each weapon I use including my sword and shield and I will catch them and stagger them but I will only get in 1 attack until they roll away and then they can just keep firing attacks even if I block. I feel like people think that shield block everything and they do not once your block is busted you get stunned and even if your going full con mages will destroy you completely I don’t expect heavy armor users to be able to keep up with people in light armor I just expect them to give us a little chance of winning these dodge rolls are insane because you can do it continuously.
None of You mentioned that in close combat any mage can beat any melee close range user like GA. So rolls are literally the one and only line of defence.
You have higher resistance and even without light armor dmg bonus, You literally are hitting light armor very hard, so don;t be more greedy. Or just start playing as a mage. Don’t You think that hitting distance attacks effectively require some skills? And hitting auto attack with melee weapons are pretty easy and You want to make that both builds, range and close, go fight in close…
that hasn’t been my experience, maybe you are seeing bad tanks.
