Starter Weapon Choice and Items Missing

    In the Heart of Madness update it states:

" * For the starting beach experience in Windsward, the Watcher now offers players a choice of 4 weapons from a weapon rack to better suit their playstyle.

  • Players can choose between a Warhammer, Fire Staff, Bow, or Hatchet.
  • Each weapon also comes with chest armor, light healing potions, and some rations."
    and further in it states:
    Further along in the notes it says this:
  • Starting beaches were updated and weapon racks added to give players more choices on their preferred combat direction.

I have rolled new characters on both Ohonoo and Orofena. Most of those characters end up starting in Monarch’s Bluff. There is no weapon rack to choose from at the watchtower.

The one character I did manage to get to start in Windsward had a weapon rack to choose from - however the choice only delivered the weapon on two pieces of chest armor to choose between. There were no healing potions or rations given.

  • What are the steps to reproduce the issue as you experienced: Create a new character and get to the 2nd quest of the starting quest where it should give you the weapon option on a nearby weapon rack.

Since reporting this I have noticed that Windsward starter weapon rack does now give a piece of armor, potions, and food.

However, the other starting areas still do not have the weapon rack option. This results in either playing through wherever your character starts and forgoing having a choice - or trying to run to the watchtower in Windsward before starting the rest of the beginning quest line.

Suggestion:
1 - Make WW the only starting area for new characters. If it’s done like other games I’ve worked on, just remove the ‘start here’ scripting/item that is usually put down in an area to pull a character to that spot. Since NW has several places I’m going to guess this is more a coding option as it’s supposed to be random (even though majority of characters start in Monarch’s Bluff). If it’s coding, then that needs to be rewritten so it’s only pulling new characters to WW.

OR

2 - Fix the other starter areas to have the weapon rack. (This is probably the simpler option as it only needs the weapon racks installed in those locations)
