Starting zones/Character Creation lock

Today I tried revisiting New World. Trying to play with my brother I made multiple characters to match starting zones. Now i’m locked out for 24 hours, can’t play with my brother for 5 days because his work week starts tomorrow. Either make it so you can choose your starting zone or at least get tech support the ability to unlock the account. This is ridiculous regarding there was no warning whatsoever before the lock.

I’m sorry that your game account was locked for new character creation.

The system was set into place for a reason to avoid spamming.

Just so you know, instead of creating and deleting multiple characters to spawn together, one can actually run towards each other in the game from their respective starting zones and start accepting the missions from a certain starting zone NPC near watch the tower and continue progressing the game together.

If you’d like, I can see to try helping you in restoring your deleted character and you can continue playing from there.

I understand that I could run to my brother. I thought that recreating my character would save the time. I was wrong. I spoke to support and they said there was nothing they could do except wait. I hoped that I could at least get one unlock so I could run to my brother in-game and start from there.

I wish I could help you but unfortunately, we do not options to unlock the lock set by the system.
It is created for a reason based on certain parameters. I’m really sorry for the inconvenience.

But as mentioned previously, I can try helping you in restoring your deleted character.

You can let me know if you would want me to do that and I’ll gladly do it, as it is the next best option available that I could try.

Also, I would suggest you to share the feedback regarding the problem you faced in the Feedback section of the forums or you can also submit your valuable feedback In-Game by doing the following:

  • Press “Esc”, select Game Menu, and then Submit Feedback.
  • Provide a description of the feedback and then select Submit.

Providing the feedback would mean that the developers will be able to see players’ perspectives, opinions and problems thus helping them in making the game better.
