Hello,
my Steam account got hacked and changed to a .ru email 2 days ago. I recovered it through paypal and got it back.
In the meantime someone logged into my NW account (Abaton, EU) and stole my Coin and everything that is sellable (Items, Asmo, Runic…)
It was traded and not sold through the action house.
Amazon Games Support said they cant do anything, but can they?
In World of Warcraft these things happen, too and the gold gets refunded (Or however it is done) to the regular owner when writing a ticket and they are sure that it happend that way.
There is a transaction history for sure which can be traced down and investigated further, but they just deciede not to.
How can people just steal gold and nothing happens? (like no further investigation, nothing)
The Amazon Games Support just answered generic stuff like: " yea cant do anything sorry"
In my case:
All my Coin is gone (330k)
All my Houses were sold and the refunded money is also gone.
All my mats are gone (Asmo, Runic, Phoenix, roughly 1000 total)
It is more than obvious that it has been hacked, but nothing is done.
This has been gone over a hundred times, ToS basically states that if your steam account gets hacked that it is your problem.
Sucks about your stuff, i highly recommend 2FA.
people say that’s its your problem, but my friend got hacked, he filed to amazon because weather steam was hacked or not. The bottom line this is a amazon game and steam is just a portal and store. So there for amazon is responsible and can return your gold as they did for my friend. Every Game On Steam You Get Support In Game, not from steam
I repeat steam is just a portal and store, they provide no support that is the games job!
At the moment, there’s no option for us to reinstate the items that were stolen, my apologies for that.
If you haven’t done this yet, please contact Steam Support just to be sure that your account remains in good standings and there hasn’t been any unauthorized changes on your other games and/or Steam account settings. Also, I invite you to enable a Two-Factor Authentication for your account.
1. YOUR ACCOUNT:
“…You are responsible for (i) maintaining the confidentiality of your account log-in credentials and for restricting access to your account, and (ii) all actions that occur under your account, including purchases…”
2.6 In-Game Items.
“…We are not responsible for loss or theft of In-Game Items.”
It is however, not that we are not acknowledging the loss in this case or that we are denying what happened, but however, this is required to bring better awareness to the community here on New World Forums.
A friendly suggestion that, securing the core Steam account and credentials along with 2FA would absolutely prevent these kind of scenarios, as it is the only way to get access to the game accounts.
Genuine question, no sarcasm, no smart-lipped BS here but seriously…if a player were able to provide proof of said date/s they were hacked and they even have steam agreeing and also providing legit backup, you guys can’t look back on those dates through their files and your own to see the sales and at least help recover houses and SOME stuff? I can understand maybe not all but if you guys can ask us for files on bug reports and we have to go digging those files out for you guys and those are looked at/fixed, why not do the same here? @Aenwyn@Zelme@Shadow_Fox
ya I’m saying that’s not true since I know someone who was hacked and there items were returned to them every one of them. Its laziness to not do it right, look at logs check where they were logged in from and fix it if its out of the ordinary. If one player can have the issue resolved others can is what im saying. His names Jarl hes on ohonono was hacked and the gms did there job and got him all his items back.
here’s the bottom line, there’s no easy anti cheat. So anyone whos good with programming or coding, can get past the system. Yea jarl on ohonono used mobile extra doesn’t matter if they can get around it which they did. Although as I said the gm’s did return his stuff even if it took them a month.
