Does the Dev team have any plans to support Steam Deck / Linux at the moment? I’m asking since recently Valve announced that it has been made much easier for Proton to be compatible with Easy Anti-Cheat but it has to be enabled by the developer. It would be great to be able to play the game on the go
We really appreciate you are sharing this suggestion to us and I will pass it to the proper team for consideration. In the meantime, I can tell you that there’s no information available for me to share, however, be sure that if developers decided to implement new features, they will definitely share their thoughts with all players in our official news category, so don’t forget to check it out frequently.
I’m planning to get a Steam Deck as well. I hope the message sent to the devs is clear that the community is not asking for a linux version of the game. It’s asking for the Easy Anticheat support for linux. Or to better yet, the devs should just contact the Steam and find out what it takes to be supported so that they get New World being listed in games that run on SteamDeck. Might get some new players that way as well.
Thank you for bringing this suggestion to our attention. I know that there are many players who are interested in Easy Anti Cheat support for Linux and the capabilities it brings to New World. With that being said, I don’t have information available on this but be sure developers are aware of this and they will update community when they have a position on this matter.
Don’t forget to follow our official news category to be on top of everything New world.

Hey, what about with New World on the Steam Deck? Now it is released, APEX Legends with Easy Anti Cheat already supported, and ya, im a active NW Player, on Steam Deck would be great. Was one reason to buy one.
Bump I want a steam deck specifically so I can play next to my wife so she doesn’t get jealous that I’m at my computer in the other room help a guy out
Hey instead of posting that you have no info can you just get whoever is your boss or there boss to actually tell us when this is going to be done from what I’ve read the software is available for you guys to make it compatible.
The easy anticheat .so library (Basically, the client side stuff for linux) has landed in the PTR. It’s not quite working “out of the box” just yet. But if you Proton EAC Runtime installed and are willing to do a bit of file copying - have a look at the last few posts over here:- Please add Easy Anticheat support for Linux! - #709 by Gargoyle
