Same issue here. Amazon, if you’re going to make us use anti-cheat, please at least update it so that legitimate players can use the latest updates on Steam DLLs and such. I paid for the game and can’t play it, now - frustrating.
Lol, if they’re going to make us use anti-cheat? The game would be unplayable without it.
It doesn’t you wont be able to play if you do this.
I mean look, I don’t care which anti-cheat software they use - the point is, it should let legit players who aren’t cheating actually play the game.
found a fix. go into steam library browse local files for new world C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\New World\EasyAntiCheat go into the easy anti cheat folder and start the easy anti cheat setup repair service and after that you should be able to play

This worked for me. Was super quick and easy and worked right away
Like, share and ring the bell
Repairing the game files and disabling the steam overlay worked for me. Everyone should try this.
Worked for me
1: Sign out of Steam
2: Completely delete the “steam_api64.dll” file in the “Steam/steamapps/common/New World/Bin64” folder.
3: Right click on the Steam.exe file and open properties.
4: In the window that opens, check Compatibility/Change settings for all users/Run this program as an administrator, then click Apply/OK.
5: Run Steam now.
6: Right-click on Steam Library/New World and open the Properties. Open Game Files from the menu on the right and verify the integrity of the Game files.
7: After the verification is complete, restart Steam and log in to the game.
Good luck…

Hey guys,
Let me share with you the official response to this issue
Please try this out and tell me if you have any other upcoming issues
you can enable steam beta in the settings to fix this problem
Thank you, it worked for me
Steam seems to have fixed it. All I did was close steam completely, reopen it & updates started. Proceeded to open New World again & the issue was resolved.
