Stop ignoring mages

Yeah I know that bow does more damage on single targets, no doubt. We shine with AoE.
But I can 1 shot Bisons in Reek :smiley:

aoe aswell if u line them up with pen shoot ( easy in pve… )

nanana easy 5 mil. Easy 3 mil ok. But for 5 you really have to get into it.

Ya, i’m talked about grit too in another comment, the way mage get knock back and stagger from literally everything is just unfair and with the release of Greatsword, right now, meh. But wait 300INT bonus give 10% more damage on a full heal target, pretty nice

Still just waiting for the community manager to come in and say anything at this point. Like It’s a major disservice to the playerbase. Feels like they dont care.

Look how fast there is a community moderator response when melee player has a complaint.

The absolute silence on mage issues is so beyond strange. No other comments, no likes no nothing. Mod passes on feedback within an hour.

Shiiiit I just made a post about delaying their leaderboards until they actually balance the game and debug some of the weapons… A moderator was the second commentor on that thread…

The silence treatment is the answer. They are just going to ignore all the mages until we go away. Sweep us right under the rug.

This is the way AGS envisions New World. Either get onboard with the melee LMB spamming program or get gone. Don’t worry Bow and Musket will be in the crosshairs next.

One of the best things about mages is we get that new 10% back stab damage with the 50 int perk. That says it all.

Also, a mage that is no FS/IG, is not a mage :slight_smile:

Side note @Devs: Please review rend, base weapon damage, stagger, and move speed.

As someone who feels like Light Armor got tarnished with the update, it definitely is pretty kek that a CM responded to a melee report in less than an hour and a half. LUL. Meanwhile, bugs galore are ignored. RIP.

I think they just want this to die out on its own and I am certain they dont have a fix for the ultimate chill bug yet either. Most likely they will have to revert the nerf intended (which will change very little for the Firestaff anyway) or count on the community to stop paying attention. Oh well sad frog vibes. Just be patient boys AoC will come out eventually.

I just wish desync wasn’t so bad. I can’t hit a target standing still with Ice Spikes in arena. It just does zero damage, even with Spiky Reach. It’s like my Spikes is never cast at all.

I’d really love to put the effort in to get good at the game and really enjoy the PvP, but between the awful balance and the fact that at least 30% of my auto attacks don’t register to hit and 100% of my Ice Spikes don’t register, it’s not really worth it.

They do not talk about crits. Plus its super stupid that ice spike that has 5m range is doing funny dmg compare do bow that has x5-10 that range.

There is little to no good namedmage items, on release voidbent never had an int stat so mages struggled to gear early on, yet dex/str had a good 600 pvp set.
With brimstone dex/str/focus seem to be showered with named items, focus especially.


NWDB highlights the most popular searches, highlighted are the mage viable pieces all other listed are dex/str/focus. With Brimstones release there are 5 new slash damage rings and 3 new thrust damage rings. (blue and green are the most popular items search that a mage could use (legs are for any stat medium build and green is worse than pvp ring)
Below is all 590+ rings of a specific stat

590 slash damage

590 thrust damage

590 fire damage (baal might be viable but fire mage generally runs crit so its only used by bb or musket, musket goes glass so maybe a fs/bb light would use it)

590 ice damage (good ring but its a drop from an instance not even sure if it was release with brimstone)

As you can see there hasnt really been any good rings released for mages. id have to compose more for amulets/ear ring buts it would be a stupidly long post.

I mean for rapier builds, maybe if/when dagger comes out. honestly 50 int is one of the best stat points in int as its + 10% crit damage. Id more complain at light nerf hitting mages way harder than dex.

Oceans oath has always been in game, was able to get 600 version after mutated came out. It’s a mutated dynasty ring, can get lesser version in regular dynasty.

They’re going to keep molding combat in such a way so that they themselves stand a chance next time there’s a devs vs. the community challenge.

Pretty soon we’ll all be heavy melee with automated potions and combat will be a 50/50 win rate 1v1 with a lower skill ceiling (no matter how good ya’ used to be) if they have it their way. We’ll have to ice our LMB fingers ( :smile:), and we’ll enjoy our new grinds just like AGS intended! :expressionless:

Then perhaps they’ll be confused when there’s no loyalty and everyone jumps ship when a new MMO comes out!

Seems this is what they are doing. Issue is ther are tons of game that already doing this. Only adventage NW has over all this other mmos is action combat system that allows you to outplay less skilled/experienced players. Moment this is gone game is not better in any aspect thany any other mmo. No reason to play it,

The Baal Hoop is pretty nice, unfortunately it’s not a farmable boss. It’s summoned from a quest which I did ages ago.
