Why are people shy of complaining when it’s warranted? People always say ohh…I don’t wanna complain blah, blah, blah. But when a product is garbage with tons of bugs, customers have the right to leave a negative review that reflects the state of the game.

I think we should all complain… constructively.
We’ve all had bad service in a restaurant or place. The overwhelming majority of people just don’t return. Constructive complaints are healthy… businesses want that relative to leaving and not coming back.
Where I struggle is with the ad-hominems and projecting of motive.

Every PR consultant in a business-crisis situation will tell the employer that they need to own the narrative and get in front of the news cycle. I see them trying, but it’s not happening yet.
For $500m of investment per year, they can afford to bring in someone to help.

I understand you are stuck. but… if you were to enable PVP you can totally enable that node of iron to yield you 30% more precious material. Because PVP.

Yeee that is it for me . I sticked throu duping i hoped for more pve endgame faster (if u consider farming now for 600 gs VG and lvling it to 20 endgame pve content - hats off to u) . There is litterally 0 to do solo in this game after 60 atm , unless u want to play tree chopping and running simulator and lvl professions .
Wars are joke, whoever lags better with 50 heavy armor on point wins , Oh ye and ur decision to give 30% gathering luck for pvp flag…while ur factions are unbalanced as shit , i mean i am fking exctatic now to get raped by 5 syndicate players any time i try to mine or chop a tree. cause on my server marauders are like non existant…so ye i turned it off , now it is even MORE shittier than before to be an underdog low pop faction in this game . Ppl from dominant faction running around pvp flagged getting more shit without any repercussions. G fking G . world pvp my ass. and ye i cant switch from it cause u have a reasonable half a year ( or what was it 2 years , 3 years ,10 ? i fking cba to log and check )cd on faction switch , so we cant even band up with covenant in 1 faction to be relevant.

With all of the bugs that came back we can tell exactly when they forked the branch for 1.1. They were so sloppy about things that they did not even roll fixes to it that had been pushed to live 2 weeks ago.

Feel free to go back to those other MMOs that were clearly so good you left them for a copy pasta rush job, which was known to be a copy pasta rush job well before it released.

You realize they released an unfinished game right with not enough content to keep you busy for long periods of time. So this mmo is more like a single player game where it just ends right now. Yeah not what ppl signed up for bud.

I completely agree with you that the only way to let them know that lots of things are wrong is by sending a complaint and letting them know. The only reason the complaints are getting out of hand is because no one is taking action in the management which is sad. It’s like they hear it on the left, tell us “yeah we acknowledge that”, then goes out to the right then nothing happens. But I really hope something gets fixed really soon and they at least try to listen to people.
AWS culture clearly found its way to the gaming side of the house. Only cares about metrics and trying to find any excuse when they fuck something up

Their game is flawed bro. Another similar game I have played for a loonnngg time is Albion and I only have four skills completely maxed to where I can’t do anything else (block refining, spears, medium chests, offhands.) While that game has its flaws, the progression system is verrryyyy long but still rewarding at every level.
New World is not that in really anyway. It is very easy to level up skills comparatively. The skill leveling is completely 1 track. I can’t focus on say crafting heavy gloves and get a special bonus to craft better heavy gloves.
I cant focus on gathering iron vein and get insane bonuses that I would only get when gathering iron.
Literally a case of dont hate the player hate the game. MMOs that take years to level and max skills are designed well like Albion, Path to Exile etc. The thought that went into designing leveling for New World took a Wednesday lunch break to decide.
Literally, what do you need in any MMO. armor weapons tools food potions. Ok, let’s have those. How do we stand out? (this probably took 10 minutes to add furnishing and jewel crafting).
Of course, those games get there and arent made perfect in a day. I will definitely check in on New World as more stuff comes out. I still have more grinding to do to get my trophies leveled up.
Seriously – how long was PTR content in PTR?
At this point I’m ready to believe that PTR was a sham and they were going to push those changes out already no matter what people said on PTR.
So maybe it wasn’t unintentional after all.
And yes, devs do push out PTS content despite “asking for feedback”. SWTOR and ESO do that all the time. PTS is really Pretend To liSten.

No, they just want a functional relatively bug free game.
A lot of what is happening is because, my guess, they don’t even have a QA department.
There are still misspellings in the game everywhere, grammar is a mess, icons don’t match items, some items don’t even have icons at all… game has been in development for years - yet some of the very basic stuff still went into the live branch.
As a software engineer myself, all I can do is shake my head.

Not at all true, this game has been in development for years… I remember playing an extremely early alpha (I think in 2017? maybe 2018?)… This game has completely changed course 2 or 3 times now, this latest version that we are currently playing didn’t get proper QA testing, didn’t have proper alpha and beta tests before all going live. We had short “beta” tests a couple months apart this year only, that was about it… it needed at least another year of testing of this current version of the game before even considering going full launch.
I’m not sure why they completely flipped this game on it’s head over the course of its design phase over the years, but I remember some really good quirky qualities this game had that just don’t exist anymore… and it’s quite sad to see this is the direction they went.
