In my opinion the problem stems a lot from allowing players who don’t actively play to contribute on the forums. Most forums for games require an active game subscription. We don’t have subscriptions so kind of hard to implement. Maybe require X hours of game play per week to post? But ideally only invested individuals who are here and play the game should be allowed to contribute on the forums. That would remove a lot of noise that is coming from trolls and people who come here just to heap on the negativity instead of constructively contributing.
Another problem is the anonymity of the internet. People say things and act out verbally in ways that would never be tolerated in a place of business. They would be tossed on their ear for the insults and abuse they hurl at the AGS staff if this was a real world establishment and they were at the customer service desk.

Nah I think people do have a right to complain here. Since brimstone release the whole community is more negative and toxic then ever, rightfully so. There is no sense of urgency to fix certain things. Like PvP for example we don’t ask for much… just maybe some weapon balancing and maybe some more trees in opr to make it more playable and not a cod session… for example people been asking for musket changes for how long? Like you don’t even have to nerf the musket or bow… just put in trees and cover all over the opr map… like we can’t even get a few more trees added
So you only want white knights and staunch defenders of the game to post on the forums, talk about an echo chamber…
The squeaky wheel gets the grease my dude, this has always been the case.

If youre an egoist and dont like anybody elses opinion because it doesnt match your honeymoon opinion - then dont come to the forums to read it - the door is right there.
This is the place where people who invested time and money into this game share their frustrations. That means they still care - if your brain cant comprehend that then i dont know how to speak to you and people like you.

New World is far from amazing atm. Close to 4k hours, and I’ve finally hit a wall, and the realization that the game isn’t that great. Weapon balance needs done asap…and has needed done since the Brimstone update in October.

Oh yeah. Agreed. I still play myself. Not sure what I’m holding out for lol. I definitely don’t play like I did, or with the same enthusiasm. But I still log in most days at least for a few minutes. I don’t know if it’s so that I feel relevant for when something does happen or what.
But either way I agree, would help with people actually trying to be constructive.

I never said that.
I said that only active players should be able to post. I did not predicate that on being a active player who loves the game.
Simply that it is an observable fact that we have very vocal trolls on the forums who claim to have quit months ago that only come here to post so they can pour gasoline on a fire just to sit back and watch it burn. That is neither helpful or productive and is harmful to the community as a whole and a way that most games handle that is by limiting posting privileges to paying customers.

My angry point is this. There are toxic people and they are constantly bothered by everything. They want the game to close. if ‘new world’ is not important in your life, don’t play it.Maybe You’ll come back later. But there are always bad comments being made. There are a lot of things that are going badly in the game, I know it, you know it too. Hopefully you know what I say

What are your thoughts on the select few who seem to have these trolls living rent free in their heads? These small amount of people jump into the same thread and fuel the fires as well, I think they are just as bad. Thoughts?
The transaction is not just about 40 USD.
It’s the time we as players put into the game which is far more valuable.
It’s the time we don’t spend at a product from the competition.
It’s the time we spent on in cross channels like Twitch (owned by Amazon) and Prime Gaming (owned by Amazon).

Players should get paid for the ongoing alpha test.

I was discussing chess. Chess alone. Not in comparison to any other game past, present or future. I was simply discussing the problems with the lack of development in the game of chess because the developers are dead; WHICH IS NOT AN EXCUSE for their lack of development.
