Storage or lack of

best i could do is 0.01

but no really. the storage system in this game is pretty oppressive to anyone with RPG tendencies (aka hording)

usually you get around that by consolidating crafting or vending off stuff you dont use.
problem is your shit is all over the place in different towns, everything is deflated due to excess mats and no stable gold income (for low pop servers), and your only option is to throw crap on the ground which both feels bad and is wasteful.

there needs to be a multi step fix for this.

  1. link all storage chests and allow us to move crap around without faction control. for incentives for territory game, make it so there is a fee that gets negated if you do control the zones.
  2. more emphasis on furniture. chest is fine for bulk but we need more container bonuses for the 100s of other items that do nothing. apothecary cabinet should reduce weight of alchemy mats and pots, armoires should reduce weight of gear. etc. now there is a reason to make the variety of different furniture + gives you a chance to make a nicer looking house instead of plates on the floor. (also food buffs for having plates on a dining table) its more reason to do the housing game/benefits furniture and finding and selling rare schematics
  3. some kinda vendor. vendors in other games are used to set price floors. it helps make you money while also removing excess materials from the server driving prices up. and while gold is relatively scarce you are getting gold back from vendering so should at least be relatively even. i know they wanted a player driven economy but our economy sucks.

The game is just not convenient to play. Everything is staring to feel like work. Friday night and my server is dead. Sad. You need to make things fun to do, not necessarily easy but not a chore.

Crafting is becoming a chore especially if you make a lot of things. Revert me back to what I was making instead of taking me back to square one.

How about motes, If I wan to make Quints why not just take the right amount of motes to get there so I don’t have to have essences etc stored up or make them first. Take the base material and make the higher. The system is complex for no reason other than to waste peoples time.

Thanks for passing it on. I am continually running into storage problems given the crazy amounts of materials needed to level up professions: at the moment working on engineering (ori arrows).

My main base has 4 chests, 110 rep, so storage is around 3100. My various armors and orb mats take up 300 or so, then by far the biggest after that is REAGENTS.

REAGENTS weigh way too much. I can easily get through 2000-3000 in a crafting session which means I very quickly go from holding 1200 weight myself plus 3200 in storage to running out of reagents and moving engineering maybe 3 levels.

In order to make the arrows I need green wood, old wood, wyrdwood, ironwood in huge quantities plus sandpaper in vast quantities (plus a tier 5 woodworking, ours got blasted in the last invasion and we might just get it back Monday…).

Then we need iron ore, charcoal (MORE WOOD), starmetal and ori ore.

And that’s just for one profession.

We need a storage increase and a weight reduction on everything.

Best solution would be to reduce the weight of everything by a factor of ten. At the very least look at reagent weights and reduce those by a factor of ten, that would be a start.

The weight and or storage is a joke in this game

i personnally would like to see a world wide bank. Growing when having teritory standing, new zones, storages chests etc…

Yes, New World requires a different mindset. That’s ok.

Linking all storages would be interesting but i want to move in the direction of finding ways to make guilds more important. For that reason i’d really like to see the concept of a “paided” bank storage, where you pay gold to have a sort of deposit box you pay weekly like you do with housing. This bank should be universal.

No it doesn’t. New World is still structured so that you need absolutely everything in spades - it just limits you arbitrarily as due to leftover survival mechanics.

The problem is NOT the storage! Problem is how market and skill system works.

If you can become max level at all skills you will need everything eventually so therefor you want to save everything.

The value of resources are more or les zero so why even bother trying to get rid of them?

in an rpg you usually tend to sell materials you dont need to afford other stuff you need so the hoarding tendency doesnt come from that

Currently my T3 house in a 2x tax town costs 150-180 coins depending on forts taken and such. this town isnt owned by my faction even. so currently a single invqasion or war is equal to a couple weeks.

do a single invasion or war a week or a couple outpost rushes and you have a weeks T2-T3 housing at 1x if you didnt improve standing by a single level…

you can get up to 37% discount from levels, and if you then locate yourself in a town that usually has low fee + owned by own faction and perhaps owned by your company if really lucky. top it off by taking the forts reducing tax before u pay and a T4 building would cost less than a T1-T2

Do better.

OPR is the only farmable example that you have given. wars and invasions are very limited entry and since we’ll all soon be on medium and high pop servers the coin gain from these will be drastically reduced across the entire game. I think its generally silly to suggest to run OPR or join a War to pay for housing tax since its an activity that gains no benefit from housing buffs. At least with invasions you can get a 4-18% damage buff.

I use my houses for the damage buffs to all types of creatures but honestly i can just consume Infused coatings for a cost of 10 coins per hour instead of paying 700-1200 coins per week for 3 house tax.

last update they change the storage … if u have overflow storage you cannot post sell or buy oders … so im stuck
all items are way to heavy and storage is way to limited
remember when thick hide was 0.01 i trow all of it on the ground … i wont do the same mistake…

this visual bug was in the game for 2 months are they gonna fix it ever?
80% of my storage is like this

Just add the crafting bag from ESO already, we know they’re grueling over it in the background. Add merchant and increase the flow of gold. before everyone jumps to kill me hear me out. The economy is already messed up, we have companies with millions in mule accounts. They all exploited the hell out of the duping debacle. Only way to fix this is by making earning gold easier so that it devalues the advantage these companies have. that way a new player doesn’t have to live in the game inorder to earn enough to compete with the exploiters. As for the crafting bag I can see how it would mess with the current bag and storage system, that would require a complete revamp. The merchant can buy our loot and mats for small minimal prices so we can consistently sell item, and buy basic items such as Iron ore for convenience in leveling crafting imagine it would also raise the prices of higher tier ores .

the economy is fkt because the game is made to crash the market … just think about it…
example hyssop … they add it for potion… so when u farm hyssop you also get seassonings… so it reduces the price for them… silver gold and plat… ptr can be used to craft orichalcum ingut… what will happen to gems? exactly the same as hyssop…
extra luck for pvp will reduce the price on everything by 99%
secondary drops ruin the market
EVERY CHANGE THEY DO IT WILL CRASH THE MARKET.

I agree. After months of playing and farming, all the storages fill up slowly over time to the point where it just is incredibly annoying. With no seperate economies, it doesn’t really make any sense anymore either.

i was complaining about storage after 100 hours of gameplay… after 760 hours 2 monts no dam change… this is the only post a community moderator respond

I like Albion’s system:

-weight based, but you can buy oxen mounts to increase your carry load a LOT. if you get off the mount and leave a radius around it, it puts all of the weight back onto your character (which encourages people to do crafting/gathering runs vs. pve/pvp ones, as you can’t just take them into dungeons or get off the mount to chase people down)
-localized banks to each city, but the weight limit is HUGE (100,000kg)
-island system instead of houses, with chests for storage that can be crafted from the get-go. Islands are also a progression system (so the NW equivalent would be like adding additions onto our houses or building a basement for storage maybe?)
-Certain pieces of armor (boots) can have their stats changed to increase carrying capacity. AGS could add affixes for this purpose (provided they also give us the ability to make armor sets)
