Okay, so there was a hidden item limit until one of the devs or cm’s posted about it casually in a post I happened to see recently. In the patch notes I could have sworn I read something about adding a clearer message on what the limit was or something like that, but i can’t find it now, but I do see they’ve added this hidden items thing now at the bottom of your storage (see 1st screenshot).
My question that I would like clarified, and I can’t be alone here, is this: Does the item limit scale with the amount of storage you have or is it a set value?
Because if it’s a set value I’d like a refund on my storage card choices for my main city as this was presented no where up front that there was 1. an item limit to begin with & 2. a set item limit value that doesn’t scale depending on the amount of storage space you have. I definately would not have taken every single storage shed card if I had known this.
Further, if it is a set value, what is the point of having better chests in your house to increase your storage space if you can never actually hit that number? I only have 4 iron chests currently. See second screenshot, I have 2500 storage space but am currently “full” at 1687.6/2500.0.
It can limit on both weight or number of items… yes you have 16…/2500 but u have a limit on number of items in storage too
The way i solved that issue, items like ur crafting mods that is a big number of that but almost zero weight move to a sidetown where u dont play much, only go there when i need them… my case that is everfall
@Bairami I know it can limit on both, it stops you from putting in when you hit either one of them first. The problem I have, well one of them, is when you try and go to sell things the effing list reorders itself every single time you either click in to see how much they are selling for or when you fill an order. Makes it hard to keep track of where you were at. I had to pull all of my ‘1 off’ items out of storage and go to another city where I had nothing to be able to try and sell the stuff, even then I’m sure I looked at trying to sel lthe same item 4-5 times because I wasn’t sure on if I’d already looked or not because it re-orders and the icons are almost never correct.
@Qetral Yeah I saw that too, the hidden limit that is not disclosed anywhere in game. This is why I would like some clarification from one of the devs because like I stated in my original post, that limit was never stated anywhere, no tooltip, no in game hint like ‘you’re the only one who can see your storage’ that came up every time for a while until they turned that off, and lots of people having the same problem as me on the forums, hitting this max weight/item limit but still having room weightwise. It’s on one of those posts that either a dev or a CM finally said something about counting items because there was a limit.
If there is a static limit on number of items, I don’t see the point in having a bunch of storage space if you can never actually/realistically reach that number, especially now with the new patch and the new items they’ve added & how trying to sell things on the trading post is a royal pain in the ass most of the time.
There is also the point that I was picking territory perk cards based on the information that was given to me by the game which was, here is your storage shed, this is how much weight it can hold. Never said there is an item limit as well, like I said before, it would have changed some of those perk cards that I picked storage on.
I don’t see why there needs to be an item limit anyways, except that either they are trying to force people to have multiple different sheds which isn’t how I want to play (nothing wrong if people do like to play that way I just don’t like or prefer it), or they are gearing up to sell us something that increases or gets rid of the limit.
