Whenever I try to play the game, I nearly always get stuck on the loading screen; that is, the one after selecting your character, with the compass logo in the lower left corner that should be spinning. Instead, the logo is stuck, and it will sit on this screen indefinitely. I have tried all of the various fixes suggested on this forum and none of them work consistently. I have to constantly reboot my computer, running nothing else until the game actually decides to work, which is about a 1 in 30 chance at best.
Here is what I have tried:
Rebooting computer
Deleting folders in AppData and rebooting
Verifying Steam files
Uninstalling and reinstalling the game (from an HDD to an SSD)
Updating Windows
Updating graphics drivers (no recent updates)
Updating BIOS and drivers
Disabling IPv6
Setting graphics to windowed, 1280x960, medium detail
Probably other things that I canāt remember now. Iāve been at this problem for three days. I can log into my account on my partnerās computer without issue. When the game does work on my own computer, I can play for hours without issue there as well. Here are my specs:
I looked into the log file and noticed two things that might point to the source of the problem. The first is that there are roughly 1400 lines like this one:
<2021-12-24 06:08:59.618>: [Info]: SBufferPoolImpl::Allocate: could not allocate buffer of size 56448
The second is that after about two or three minutes of being stuck on the loading screen, the log updates with these lines:
<2021-12-24 06:10:35.652>: [Info] (AZCore): [GameConnection] GameConnectionWrapper: disconnected from REP
<2021-12-24 06:10:35.658>: [Info]: [ERROR] ClientSDK: @mm_csdkerr_disconnect
Neither of these are present in a log file generated when the game works properly.

I understand your issue and thanks for bringing in as much detail as possible I truly do appreciate that, can you do me a favour and repair/reinstall the Anti-cheat in order to do this do the following:
Go to your steam library and right click New World, go to properties.
Hit the local files button and then browse local files button.
Look for the āEasyAntiCheatā folder or āEACā and go into it.
After that locate the .exe file and right click and launch it as admin.
Repair or reinstall the Anti Cheat and restart your pc.
Note: Something that might affect is any RGB controller or software installed in the pc, please try to disable in the meantime that.

Hi rasboi, thanks for the welcome, and the quick response. (I hope you guys get holiday pay!) The steps for EAC you listed are also something I tried. I knew I forgot to mention something, my bad.
Iām really surprised that RGB software would have anything to do with the game loading. Do you know why that might be? As it is, the only RGB software I know I have are part of the programs for my SteelSeries mouse and Corsair keyboard. I have a physical RGB controller for the rest of the hardware. I closed those other two programs but still experience the loading problem.
Edit: A couple more things⦠I forgot to also mention that Iāve been running Steam as admin to rule that out as a variable.
I also just noticed that GameCrashUploader.exe runs with the NewWorld.exe process in the Task Manager. Is that normal, or does that only launch when there has been some kind of error? So far I have not had any explicit error messages when trying to run the game.
Just giving an update that Iām still experiencing this issue.
I was poking through the log file again and noticed that this line comes up shortly after the buffer allocate errors:
AZCore): [Rendering] Present failed, error code -2005270523. Attempting to recover

Be sure to have your game logs ready, if possible the most recent three from your game files (Users\AppData\Local\AGS\New World\LogBackups)

Yeah, I bumped the thread because it was coming up on 30 days and I didnāt want it to be closed. Thanks for the link, I just spoke with a rep over live chat and they created a ticket for me. Iāve heard February is ābug fix monthā for New World so hopefully theyāll be able to figure this out.
